This is interesting......

the fact that CLF has more than one version of the Ng Ying Kuen.

here is one.......i believe is CHan Family....

Each line has it's own Ng Ying as far as I'm aware. That first one was interesting, looked really like the Toisan village style I used to do.

Im partial to the second one. Almost exactly the way I leaerned it. The first one was cool but didn't look much like CLF to me.

It definetely looked like Chan Family CLF......they do those elbow rows alot.

I liked both because of the differences in execution. both are good and have strong points. but i am actually more partial to the slower one because that one and the one from my branch (although not originally a CLF internal form-but turned into one). I will post a small comparison clip as soon as youtube finishes uploading it.

Frakns,

Where did you get that form is Chan family?

The elbow rolls in the set I have only seen done in Chan Family Choy Lee Fut, plus I have heard that their ng ying kuen is internal.

I did make assumptions based off of what I've seen in my research of all the branches material.

I could be wrong, but I've never seen anyone outside the chan family do those elbow rolls.

I don't think the Chan Family 5 Animals is supposed to be internal. I remember seeing a list of their internatl sets and nh ying wasn't one of them. Perhaps this is just how this person does the form.

For example Doc Fai Wong's Fut Gar Jeurng (Buddha Palm) is done slow and internal like whereas most other lines do it faster like typical sets.

as well,

the majority of sets that start right where they are, legs open, ......in my research only chan family or schools highly connected to chan family CLF open their sets that way. Hung Sing (all of them) have the L shape pattern in the openings.

The opening looks Chan Family from the limited number of sets I have seen from them; however I am not sure about how the set is done. You should send an inquiry to their website to see if this is their version or contact someone like T. Cunningham, who posts on this site and is in San Deigo.
