So many people wearing red T shirts sat in protest in Taipei;

as if a red dragon lied down amidst city lights.

So my coworkers asked me what is going on?

I said the first family was possibly "involved" with scandals of bribery?

It was a peaceful sit in to urge his resignation.

Sept 9th is a very sensitive day.

It was the 30th anniversary of Mao's passing.

Only quiet services held by his relatives in China.

--

Yes. We are very lucky that no widespread unrest or violence occurred in Taipei over the weekend.

My high school is very close to the Presidential Palace. I was among the student gatherings on Oct 10th parade on the exact same spot in 1970's.

The most memorable flag raising:

A girl scout swam and passed along a flag to colonel Xie defending at Si Han warehouse close to Su Zhou river and foreign consession.

The last flag flew in Shanghai.

They took a stand to deter Japanese advancing army while the main Chinese force retreating.

A president represents a country and his people.

He or she would do things for the best interests of his people and not his/her party or himself/herself. the interests of a country are above the interests of a party/group or those of oneself.

There is a folklore.

There are 4 types of a leader/emperor.

1. Ming Jun: understanding, considerate and compassionate. knows what is good for the people and does what is good for the people. the status of the people's wellfare and livilihood is always on his mind. people will support and like him.

2. Zhi Jun: wise leader, has vision/blue print for the future. uses good people to carry out the plan. people will listen, trust and follow him.

3. Yong Jun: clueless, directionless. dun know what is good or bad. uses wrong people for the wrong jobs. however, if assisted by good ministers, there is still something accomplished. people will still rally behind him.

4. Bao Jun: abusive to the people, plunders the resources of the people for his own purpose without any consideration of the wellfare/livilihood of the people. He or she may not last long.

Shih Ming Teh (De);

Ming Teh means understanding characters/justice, right or wrong etc.

As his name said his characters.

Even though he never holds high political positions. He will be remembered as a true gentlemen (Zhen Jun Zi).

father of the democracy and "hero of the people"

Ming Tzu Zi Fu. Ming Tzu Yin Xiong.

Let us hope his second "revolutionary" drive is just a peaceful sit in and not bogging down the working of a nation and people's livilihood (Shen Ji).

Shen Zhi, Shen Zhi. San Zhai, San Zhai,

Be careful. Be very careful. Be good for goodness sake.

In his starting speech;

Shih said the dispute between blue and green separates us all these years.

We are all sons of God and sons/children of Taiwan. We have to include and tolerate one another (Bao Long). We have to be together again and move forward as one.

It is anti corruption march/sit in and requesting the president's resignation.

But in effect, it is also dissolving the "hatredness" and disputes among parties and different groups of people in Taiwan society.

An interesting promo clip. As China rushes to embrace modernization and the 21st century, nationalism and economic developments take the precedence over everything else ideologically.
