Has anyone ever herd this before?

yes, it's common TCM knowledge. However, a nut is a nut... we can't eat too much. There are many more things (herbs) that are also good for the kidneys.

the doctor told me also to eat some chinese vegtable and those small red herbs. Do you know how to cook or eat them. They are the size of like a seed.

Well, it's hard to guess by that description what it is. My best guess is

Gou Qi Zi. A small red fruit that looks and feels like a small red raisin.

If that's what it is you can put some in your hot tea (Chinese tea) and drink the tea or you can just eat them out of the bag like raisins.

Again, just don't gorge yourself on them.

:D

Hi wiz cool c,

To answer your question, yes, I have heard of this before. It may be because of its zinc and fatty acid component. Check out the profile:

Walnuts have worked well for me and continue to do so. I usually say it builds "man's nature." It was one of those natural foods that athletes (from long ago) used to nourish themselves and it also factored in their recovery. This was long before steroids.

Our Feng Shui horoscopes (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/info/horoscope/index.php) columnist, Wilson Sun, often recommends porridges with walnuts in it. Generally, we only run the forecast section on our website here, and save the dietotherapy stuff for the print mag (http://www.martialartsmart.net/19341.html).
