In other words, his partner was 199cm = over 6'6" tall; and more heavily built than Jess Willard (also over 6'6").

Tate's record wasn't that impressive, but he was thrown to the wolves early and often, most of his losses coming to hall of fame fighters.

fyi- just to put it into perspective, both those 2 (willard and tate) were taller than lennox lewis.

Definitely count me as one of those guys who finds fighters of yesteryear horribly underrated against guys of the last 30-40 years.
