some of you guys watch too many kung fu movies.
there is so much talk here of "my teacher can kick your teacher's ass", and folks talking sh@t from hundreds of miles away.....
seriously

there is a gross misconception here that one can find shortcuts in Chinese MA.

taijiquan, baguazhang, and hsingyiquan can take as much as 10 years of HARD practice to even be considered neophyte.

the idea that a video or seminar, or switching teachers is going to give you a comparable level of skill is absurd.

furthermore, the overall attitude here is not very becoming of an internal martial artist. Many who post here would likely be ashamed were they to show their postings to their sifu.

Sorry to be longwinded here but for the sake of the art I wanted to interject a few sane words. There are impressionable people coming here for information and instead receiving arrogant nonsense.

Keep it real
practice hard
go to class as often as possible
train one style until mastered
do not be fooled by kungfu marketing
and remember the only thing that makes an effective internal martial artist is YEARS of hard practice.$

Thank you for clearing that up for us. What have we been thinking?

Most actions of men can be explained by observing a pack of dogs. Not wild dogs, just neighborhood dogs who all scurry under the fence on the same night and set off together to reclaim a glimmer of the glory their species possessed before domestication.
