CLF in NYC

Anyone know where you can study CLF or a variant of it in NYC, preferably Manhattan?

I know Chan Kam Fai was teaching Hung Sing Choy Lay Fut on Allen Street in NYC Chinatown a few years back.

He may have left the area, but maybe some of his old students are still floating around.

I believe there is a Buksing group in Jamaica Queens.

Dude, I have to know Kung Fu -before- I enter Jamaica, Queens. Trust me.

I found an old listing for that school you were talking about, but the number did not work. (211 East Broadway.)

Why is this so rare in NYC? Just curious. I'm a novice, but when I saw CLF videos it looked like a really cool style to try.

I dont think its a big style on the East Coast.

Except for groups in Florida and Chicago, I think Choy Lay Fut is pretty popular in California. I believe most of the old CLF Sifu's entered the USA from that side of the coast.

And Jamaica Queens is not that bad nowadays....you should have been there in the 80's and 90's.

If I am not mistaken, Lama Pai Sifu teaches Choy Lay Fut in Long Island.
Chan Tai San taught CLF to his students, correct?

When I was living in Brooklyn a few years back and looking for a CLF school to train @ the closest I came was a Bak Hok Pai school on Canal St. In Manhattan. Very cool style, it has a lot of similarities to the long range motions and kicks of CLF. Highly recomended,,
