I went to this school for a while a long time ago then moved out of the Pittsburgh area. You may want to take a look at it when you're there.

Pittsburgh's not a bad town to live in, Not a big city really but there's a lot of stuff to do. Good Luck.

What part French?. hopefully the part that can cook.. Mitch thanks for the tip Will check it out... What dont I like ! ... I work at Mission Hospital and this is a company town where ,if you work in my field you take what they give or leave..Otherwise its ok. Not much to do ..no variety of people but specialy food.. Ethnic stuff.. The water we lack here.. It is a nice place other than working conditions.. Really ,Im just waiting for Castro to drop dead so I can go back and open up a bar for retired M.A s

If it were me I`d make the short trip up to Beaver Falls and check out Shifu Clarkson. He is very skilled in Tanglang boxing. He personally trains everyday for hours. He knows his material inside out. Outside of the fact that he has a vast number of forms, drills, two-man forms and weapons, he is a very good San Shou Coach. So you will fight.

Are you crazy? Pittsburgh is A+. When I was growing up outside of Pittsburgh during the 1960s the Steel Mills were a mess---most are gone!

Sports is big, fishing is great, mountains are within driving range along with trout streams galore, the strip district is excellent, UPMC University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is superb, lots of great Universities, cultural aspects are great, the Southeast is oversold!:p

There is a disciple of Wang Peisheng teaching in Pittsburgh and he goes well beyond taiji---I don't have his site at hand.

Enjoy Pittsburgh---the incline, rent Flashdance---

Lucky dog, I am stuck here 25 miles south of Cleveland (Akron). LOL, I am just kidding--this area is a diamond in the rough and only needs a little bit of polishing.

disciple of Wang Pei Sheng, Zhang Yun, teaches taiji and xing yi here in Pittsburgh. he is the person to go to for chinese martial arts in Pittsburgh, for great prices. Rotherocks is a rip off. Don't waste your money because you won't learn anything but little karate forms. You don't learn gong li quan till you're a black belt.

there are plenty of great parks in pittsburgh: schenely park, point state park, frick park
there are great bike trails: south side trail, ohiopyle, jail trail, north side trails,
there are plenty of great food markets: strip district, oakland both have a lot of different kinds of food
There are Gallery crawls and bar crawls in downtown regularly.
The cost of living is great!
I love Pittsburgh, its only flaw being cold winters. There is plenty to do, usually free or cheap stuff . Phipps conservatory, the carnegie museum, the aviery, the zoo, the warhol museum, the incline, heinz history center, gateway clipper fleet, and so much more.

I could never find a place to find a bottle of wine when I visited my daughter! And no appreciation in real estate!

I could never find a place to find a bottle of wine when I visited my daughter!

PA has weird laws regarding alcohol, but in the city proper there is a 'wine and spirits' store in every neighborhood.

hey mambi,

i would recommend www.teoulmoon.com just north of pittsburgh or www.steel-dragon.org, they are both excellent schools with teachers that care about your development.

i agree with bodhitree...stay away from rothrock. what a *******!!

I would think that Pittsburgh would have some good training I mean just from the nature of the town. I ve always have had a good instinct for these kinds of things, Lived in L.A , Madrid, Miami ,Frankfurt,Mexico,Detroit, San Juan, and Pitts has its own style, more unique than most.Got an offer in for a place in Idiana Township though Ill be working in Oakland ( any parking places?). Hear you are having a bit of a cold snap! hardy folks(My wifes a native) Love to be there now and train outside at Hartwood acres . Any takers ? ps Will check out you recommendations.
