Thank you for sharing these precious videos. As a token of appreciation, I would like to share our style's wooden dummy form that is inspired by GM Chu Chung Man, who was a sworn brother of our GM Chiu Chuk Kai.

I believe you can see certain influences of your style in it despite this is primarily a northern praying mantis from:

CCK TCPM Wooden Dummy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oq7iW1SJvl4#GU5U2spHI_4)

This form is performed by Sifu Galen Fok's (my mentor) disciple Sifu Andrew Yuen.

Long live Shaolin's wooden dummies! ;)

Warm regards

Robert (Mantis108)

Thank you for posting and great video. There is simmilarity to our Weng Chun in the techniques, I can see that. GM Chu Chung Man was very fameous Martial Artist. Below I put a link to his oldest living student in Shaolin Weng Chun GM Chan Wing Yu, practising a Two Man set/Chisao with his long term disciple Master Ignatius Siu

Hi Derek,

Just took a look at the two videos of Master Tang Chuk Pak...one with you...the other looks like one of your students with him....

Lots of great stuff here.

Clearly a connecting link between wing chun fighting/striking concepts into close quarter clinch/grapple work...and back into striking when the opportunity arises.

Much food for thought here about how to transition in and out of grappling range with a wing chun/weng chun base...

in additon to other ways to grapple: catch wrestling, Greco-Roman, judo, jiu jitsu, sambo, etc.

I see lots of seamless amalgamation (mixing of the arts) in my mind's eye as I think about these vids and what I already know.

Got to have you and some of your guys visit my school again when we get a chance.

Hey Victor,
Yes, you're right. I practise old chinese traditions but as a Westener my body reacts in a little different way so I'm trying to apply the same Weng Chun techniques in more modern way. Chinese don't fight and don't practise like that so it can be confusing to viewers, but all we need is to practise and apply.

Rik and me we train all the time, and we are looking forward to meet you again. Thanks again for invitation - are you still available at Dumbo? If not, you could visit us too,
and other folks are welcome either! -

BTW, I will be organize a Weng Chun seminar soon here in NYC or Brooklyn

:)

How long is the average upload time-I have a few clips about 5 minutes long-the first one took over an hour to upload...

VingDragon

i think it depends of quality - bigger files takes longer to transcode into flash format. this one is only 30 sec/11 Mb it took me around 3 minutes to upload. worst part is final procedure of video approval - that takes much longer :)

mpegs or wma formats are lower quality but it takes short time to upload. good thing in U2B service is choice of video quality to watch from.
