View Full Version : whats really the best way?

I have recently been working out in Wing Chun Kung fu. I have been doing body weight exercises for strentgh, but was wondering if anyone had any input on weight trainging or is body weight exercises best. I understand that bulk is not what i am looking for in the workout and doesnt weight training increase bulk? Any help would be helpful.

It depends on your specific goals, for training pure strength and power weights are essential. For training muscular endurance then no. Do you plan on competing in something? What about mixing it up with weights and cardio? Weights do not necessarily equal bulk! They can, but it depends on 1 how you lift and 2 how you eat. I lifted weights for well over a year once and didn't gain any weight. Recently I've gained weight, but I've been lifting heavy and eating big.

Oh, and there is no "best way", its all in what the individual wants.
