Nice find Fire,:)

I don't think that is Bando per-say though. I believe that there native kickboxing system is called Lethwei. It could be a sub-system of bando but from what I hear is that Lethwei sits on its own.

It looks pretty rural so I don't think its the more modern Myanma Traditional Boxing.

Muy Thai is nothing to be Triffled with. Excellent in stand up fighting. Ground game is another matter.Muy Thai is not that great in ground techniques.

Peace,TWS

a joke?
the truth is that it's really kinda sad

most burmese in thailand are political refugees and are the poorest of the poor in a poor country, a lot of the burmese fighters in these videos are fighting for bread money.

the event is kind of a local carnival out in the sticks, near the burmese border.
thais and burmese have beef going back thousands of years.

these "thai vs burmese" events are a way to play out old rivalries, as well as to pay homage to one of the founders of muay thai- a general captured by the burmese during war time who was forced to fight, hand to hand, the best fighters in the burmese army & went undefeated.

i wouldn't take these vids as any sort of proof of leithwei's effectiveness, as the fighters probably aren't the cream of the crop and their motivations for competing can be questionable.

Good call. Lethwei can be pretty brutal. The second link is a combo.
