so you have ma related products (dvd, books, wears and gears) or service (schools),

you may be listed in the phone book,

you may be running ads in local papers and ma mag,

but would you run an infomercial on local or national TV?

pros and cons;

your comments?

:D

So you are a huge sell out and you want to become the ultimate sell out?

Yes, then take out an infomercial, I guess.

What, you run a chain of schools or something?

Oh, I guess this answers the question:

So, does anybody here NOT run at a school or profit in the martial arts some way?

You might want to find out a little more about the reseller, their track record, what the terms of the contract are and all of that.

some would read articles about styles on a ma mag;

buy some books and dvd's

then actively seeking out a teacher and a school of the style;

or the other way around?

Other way around, I think. I never had any intrest in theory before I got deep enough into kung fu to realize kung fu is just choreography and dance with out it.:)

after some discussions, it seemed that it is not a good idea to do infomercial on national TV.

b/c

1. CMA books are special interests, I have 2 general books, people from different schools/disciplines may relate to, 3 style specific books, only people doing the said style may be interested (that is even a smaller group)

2. TV campaigns involved 4 min air time and 100 airing. is it cost effective. no discounts from vendors, but people may get cheaper pricing from the web.

they are interested in introducing Ba Ji as an exercise content, featuring a teacher and young students doing the style on TV. This ad may bring public attention to the style. but--

all in time.
