Chan Wu Gong Fu Academy is located at the foothills of the Nine Lotus Flower Mountain (Jiu Lian Hua Shan), close to Dengfeng, Henan Province, China. The Academy is situated in a small, traditional village on the outskirts of Deng Feng proper and is easily accessible by taxi, bus and motorcycle taxi.

The small village environment gives you the opportunity to learn and understand Shaolin Gongfu and the culture of the Chinese people as in the old days of the Shaolin Temple. The hills and winding paths around the house provide a challenging morning run, as well as a great place for morning Qi Gong in addition to a place to quietly discover yourself. A 5-minute walk from the Academy there are old mud cave homes, some of which are still occupied today. It is like walking back in time and history.

The Academy specialises in teaching foreign students, but teaches Chinese Students as well. The Academy aims to further the cultural exchange between the people of other countries and China.

The training at the Academy includes Traditional North Shaolin Gong Fu and South Shaolin Gong Fu and Tai Ji (basics, empty hand and weapon forms as well as Chin Na), Sanda (a fighting style including punches, kicks as well as locks and throws), Qi Gong (soft/internal such as Ba Duan Jin and hard/external such as the Iron Body) as well as the opportunity to learn about Meditation, Chan Buddhism, Chinese Language as well as Traditional Chinese Medicine.

One post and this is all we get? There's not even any contact, so it's totally useless even it we permitted spam. You've just demonstrated to everyone here on the Shaolin forum that you have no forum fu whatsoever and shamed the Chan Wu Gong Fu Academy that you are trying to promote. Had you been true Shaolin, you would have done your research and learned the attitude our forum has towards school spam ads like this.

Spam promotions like this are a ban-able offense here. I'm giving you a chance to redeem yourself by not banning you outright. It's customary to leave an 'out'. But I'm letting this post stand party for punitive humiliation, and partly as an example to others. We're watching your next move. Can you redeem yourself. A true Shaolin practitioner could.

I'm sorry for my angry comments. Please use common scence when dealing with a website ran by a commercial company. kung fu magazine does a lot to educate about and spread martial knowledge. They should not be taken advantage of.

Other monks have advertised in our magazine through proper channels. We're fine if you ad your website to your sig and contribute to the forum like the rest of the members. But to just join in and spam several forums is inexcusable, shaolin monk or not.

bodhitree - no need to apologize. You were right on the money, with both this one and the other spam yesterday (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45846). Sevenstar deleted the other spam ads on the main. The "hey as5' was a little excessive, but this is why you guys are moderators. We appreciate your vigilance.

Actually, beyond LFJ's comment, we don't know that it was a Shaolin monk and even if it was, we don't know if it was a real Shaolin monk. All we know for sure is that it was a Shaolin spammer and an ignorant one at that. I gave CWG an 'out' and he failed to take it, so he is banned. Not only that, he failed as 'true Shaolin', much less real Shaolin monk. More's the shame. Nevertheless, I'm going to count CWG as a Shaolin monk just so I can say I've banned a monk off the forum.

i based that conclusion of him being shi xingming on his signing one of his posts at another message board (that he actually spoke on in response to questioning rather than copying and pasting irrelevant info from the site) as master wang. (xingming's secular family name)

so, well done, gene! we'll count that as banning a shaolin monk from your site. :) lol, unfortunate but it had to be done.

I know this is off topic, but I have a questions. Are there actually schools in china where they have decent sit down toylets instead of those chinese squat crappers? I was at Shi Chai hai in November and had to use those things (I lived in a dorm and not in the hotel). Luckally I found a normal toylet in the admin building, but the door closed right onto the toylet so there wasnt any space for my legs (and I wasnt going to use the crapper with the door open). I worked my splits on that trip, which was very good.

My master Shi Decheng (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44742) recently opened a second school in Dengfeng that is designed with foreigners in mind. I haven't been there yet, but I'm told it has western toilets, clean modern facilities and excellent food. Decheng has traveled the world and brought back some more 1st world standards to 3rd world Dengfeng. It's still really hard at a lot of Shaolin tho - read Shaolin Trips - Episode Three: Resting on a Pillow (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/ezine/article.php?article=522), the section on 'Shaolin Disciple Xinghung'.

Hello,

This last year I have been doing humanitarian work in several
provinces of China. An ice storm diaster in GuangXi where I donated
my time and teaching skills to the military soldiers. I taught
sanda self denfense techniques, forms and weapons skills.

The earthquake diaster left many people homeless and without family.
No hope of learning and continuing education without help from
others. I have donated as much time as I can but would like to now
focus and concentrate on others who would like to come to China and
also learn shaolin gongfu skills. I understand how difficult it
can be now to want to learn something and not have the resources to
do so. Traveling and meeting many people from many places in China
has broadened my view and gave me new hope to help many others.

I have reduced my fees for training by half as my contribution
towards helping others who wish to train. With the olympics here
now ready to begin many people will have the chance and opportunity
to see shaolin gongfu.

I have found there are many places wanting to have students teach
english for periods of time if you should want to study and learn
gongfu while teaching. This would be a way to leanr and earn to help
pay for your continued training and needs while in China.

Shaolin Gong Fu’s main difference to most other martial arts is that is has Chan Buddhism at its heart. Its strength, hardness and speed on the outside are filled with softness and compassion in the heart. The aim is not to learn how to fight, but to learn how not to fight. One has to battle oneself, learning how settle the raging within the human mind. Through balanced and proper training it is not only the body that grows strong, but also the spirit at the same time. To truly understand Shaolin Gong Fu one must step beyond the physical and beyond just performing a set of movements.

Some of the actual movements or forms of Shaolin Gong Fu are based on animals, such as Wu Xing Quan (5 Animals), Qi Xing Quan (7 Animals), Gou Quan (Dog Fist), Ying Quan (Eagle Fist), Hei Hu Quan (Black Tiger Fist) to name a few.

Other forms include Shaolin Quan (Shaolin Fist), Old Shaolin Nan Quan (Southern Shaolin Fist), Lohan Quan (Lohan Fist), Chang Quan, Tong Bei Quan, Shao Hong Quan (Little Red Fist), Da Hong Quan (Big Red Fist), Lian Huan Quan, Gongfu Quan and Jin Gang Quan (Diamond Fist).

Shaolin Weapons include some of the following: Shaolin Guen (Staff), Dao (Broadsword), Bien (Whip Chain), Jian (Straight Sword), Qiang (Spear), Mu Yang Bien (Bullwhip), San Jie Guen (3 Section Staff), Shang Gou (Tiger Hook Sword), Pu Dao (Horse Knife).

Shi Xing Ming, with secular name Wang Xin Peng, was born in 1975 in ancestral family home located in Dengeng, Henan Province, China. The family home and Academy is located at the base of The 9 Lotus Flower Mountain, called the Jiu Lian Hua Shan in Chinese.

In 1983 Master Wang entered Shaolin Temple under his Uncle Shi De Qian and was given the Shaolin Name name Shi Xing Ming. He began to learn the secrets and traditions of the Shaolin Temple that are handed down through generations of Shaolin Wuseng (monks), including Acupuncture, Herbal Remedies, Internal and External Qi Gong as well as Chin Na.

Shi Su Xi was the main overseeor of the Temple activities at the time when Master Wang started his training. He taught Master Wang Shaolin Quan (forms) and Shaolin Weapons. When Shi Su Xi’s and Shi De Qian’s teaching time became limited by their involvement in the Temple duties, Master Wang would train with Shi Xing Qian.

In 1994 some of the Wuseng from the Shaolin Temple were selected to go to the Southern Shaolin Temple in Fujian to teach. Master Wang stayed at the Fujian Temple for two years teaching Northern Shaolin Gong Fu and learning Southern Shaolin Gong Fu.
Master Wang then went north to Anhui and taught for an additional two years before going to Northern Jilin Province for three years to teach foreign students. Master Wang has taught over 600 foreign students from many different countries during the past years and is now teaching foreign students in his ancestral home near Dengfeng.

We (our school) are going to Shaolin in June for training. Maybe I will get a chance to meet Xing Ming and check out his school if we have time. I know that Xing Ying has arranged training at De Yang's and De Cheng's if they are in the country at that time.
