Next Level Sports Opens Doors, Hearts and Minds to new Training Facility for
Youth to Pro Athletes with Theories based upon both Eastern and Western
Training Designs.
Local men Brian Wood and Chris Swanson have created a special training
center designed for the young athlete in mind. The facility provides an
opportunity to train in a serious sports atmosphere where kids and parents
can get a workout in at the same time. Offering services in personal
training, core training, speed and agility, yoga and pilates, wrestling and
martial arts along with cardio, batting cages and strength and conditioning.
Brian Wood graduated from Arvada High School in 1995. From there he competed
for the University of Wyoming becoming a Western Athletic Conference
Champion in 1999 and was Nationally Ranked (Top 20 Division 1A) in
Wrestling. Graduating from UW with a Bachelor of Science (Major Exercise
Physiology) he entered the training field by becoming a Certified Personal
Trainer through the highly respected National Strength and Conditioning
Association. Finishing his internship at Gold’s Gym in North Vancouver,
British Columbia, Brian then spent 2 years training and teaching in
Portland, Oregon. This is where he discovered Eastern Training Philosophies
such as Yoga, Tai Chi and Qigong. Magnetizing to the spiritual side of
Eastern theories he began using Meditation and Visualization during training
sessions with athletes and achieved increased success during practice and
competition. From there he moved back to his hometown where he has been
since 2003. Brian then started Coaching Wrestling at the High School and
Youth level while providing athletes with private and group training outside
the school. Recently he has attained the Highest Training Credential in the
Country – CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from NSCA).
This highly respected credential qualifies him to train NCAA, Pro and
Olympic athletes as a Trainer and Strength Coach. His main focus however is
youth athletes ranging from 10-18 years old but does train a number of Pro
fighters and athletes. He created the foundation of Next Level Sports with
the Mind Body Soul approach and continues to strive for excellence in all
aspects of his life.
Chris Swanson was referred to Brian by Bob Leid (Camp Team) where he began
training Chris’s two young star athletes Nick and Carolyn. Chris coaches
Nick’s youth Baseball and Wrestling teams and Helps out with his Youth
Football Team. Holly, Chris’s wife is an elementary PE Teacher and Help
coach Carolyn’s Youth Soccer Team.
The Swanson family is competitive and focused on school just as much as
sports. Their oldest daughter Annaleigh, Graduate from Wheat Ridge High
School, stars as a Broadway performer in New York. The family is well
respected in the community and supports many youth organizations.
This is where Next Level Sports begins. Brian and Chris decided that
building a sports specific training center for youth was the best thing to
do for all involved.
The Grand Opening will be an open house where parents and kids can tour and
use the facility while meeting the staff and getting to know the people
involved. With special guest appearances and performances the event will be
filled with fun and enjoyment. Come get something to eat and have a great
time at Next Level Sports. Get some autographs and pictures with sport
celebrities and win prizes and giveaways all day long.
