i completely slacked off the training journal, but i havent just stopped training or anything. i just kinda lost my steam for the journal when my computer at home died and i had to reset my 5x5 program. that and my 5x5 program keeps getting interrupted by training with my budy marcus, but im making prs so what can i say.

my previous prs were dead for 335 and squat for 375 (although i worked up to 370 x 3 with the 5x5).

on my birthday, march 23rd, i pulled 350 for pr, but wanted 3 plates and quarters. got the 365 two weeks later. i just got the squat tonight and i feel awesome.

unfortunately im still 148lbs and will probably drop a little for vanity during the summer.

to be that light, those are awesome prs. both of mine are about 100lbs more, but I am almost 100lbs heavier... great job! you should give some thought to lifting competitions.

i did the conversion, and youre 67kg deadlifting 166kg and squatting 148kg :eek:

im down at about 64kg sumo DL'ing 115kg for 3. thats 141lbs and 253lbs. daaaamn your strong, i cant even imagine lifting what you are.

i honestly think it has a lot to do with the atmosphere where i train. everyone wants to see everyone else do better, yet its still competative. at dirty gym there are a few guys right around my weight pulling a bit more than i do and a ton of guys pulling 5+ plates for double and tripples. even though they are heavier than i am it kinda leaves you with the feeling that if they are repping 5 plates theres absolutely no reason i shouldnt have 4 plates for a single. plus i want to catch up to the guys who are around my weight.

.... the thin guy whos pulling third i think is one of the guys around my weight im talking about. you see him here doing 365 for 4. also my buddy marcus pulls last and if i remember right its 465 for 7 or 8 at right around 165lbs body weight. it wasn't a pr for him, but some **** good pulling. the first guy is tate reppin out 405 and the second is brian who just got back into lifting less than a year ago and has never been stronger at 36 years old.

also marcus always seems to get that extra little bit out of people. last night when i maxed on squats i was using a 55lb bar and i suddenly realized that if i wanted 315 i was gonna have 2 plates and change. **** that i wanted 3 plates. i was actually going to change bars and marcus says, "no ... you do 3 plates." and i said, "but thats 325 not 315." his response was simply, "is 325 not better than 315?" **** like that happens a lot .. dirty gym is a great place to train.

thanks man ... and i have actually been thinking about just that. id rather do a jiujitsu comp, but ive never done anything of the sort before and i can feel my nerves getting to me just thinking about it. i thought a lifting comp might be a little easier way to transition into competing in general, but maybe they're too different for it to matter. what do you think?

.... also dude if your reppin out 253 your not far from 300 at all. for me my body really started learning its grove right around 320 and it actually seemed easier to progress from there.
