Hello!!
It's been a while since we last spoke. I was wondering how your reseaerch into Tai Tzu Quan was going? Have you been able to put together any sort of accurate history and time line for it's evolution yet?

Hi RD,

Currently I am in the mists of organising my relocation (around July) to Singapore so I have not had much time for such. Once I settle I will put details in a Taizuquan section on the http://www.satirio.com/ma/home.html site.

Interesting! I have seen the site before. I noticed you have a link for the Northern Tai Tzu from Shandong as well. That is Tai Tzu Hong Quan?

I know it has some cheezy sound effects, but is this one of your forms? Or maybe close to one of your Northern sets?

Also, have you had a chance to compare notes with Sal Canzonieri? He has a ton of Tai Tzu info, especially on the Hunan branch of Tai Tzu Chang Chuan.

I remember you mentioning a temple in Southern China that had a manual documenting Southern Tai Tzu forms from the surrounding area families. I believe you mentioned it documented over 70 short Southern Tai Tzu forms. Did you ever get a copy of that one? I know you said you were trying to several years ago.

Also, what was the name of that Temple?

Yes I did obtain a copy of Taizuquan quanpu, the grandstudent (my Shishu) of Miaoyue provided it to me after I spent a few weeks studying with him. It was in Zongfu Temple, Quanzhou.

Very cool, that's a great historical item.

I'm looking for factual information about Southern Tai Tzu history for my CMA history website.
I need help with finding info about how it evolved from Northern tai tzu, if it did; and when and where it spread to southern provinces.
Etc etc etc
anything will help.
