Looks like all the 9/11 conspiracy theorist are wrong, Steel DOES melt when you heat it!!

Even if the steel didn't melt, the metal would have expanded, reducing it's tensile strength until it collapsed.

Sort of. More precisely, it changes the crystalline structure of the metal, making the crystals smaller and smaller as it heats. This decreases the rigidity of the steel and seriously weakens it.

Steel looses around 80% of its rigidity at about 1500F.
