Well I don't understand it at all. Paris Hilton has been in the news a lot lately because of her legal troubles. I've talked to people, I've read comments and it seems a lot of people, especially men for some reason, hate this lady as if she was a mass murderer or terrorist.

Being rich and living the high life is part of her image. The little I've seen of her on TV I try to look past that and see what the real person is. I see someone who is fairly normal for a young girl. She not overtly friendly nor is she a total snob. However she is the most hated person in America at the present. I don't see it.

I will not say too much about her legal problems other than to ask what is the normal treatment when this happens. Had this happened to Joe Smoe would he get time in jail?

In any case I truly fear for her safety when she's out in public. I say, "give it up people". There are a lot worse men and women out there (Who are not famous) than Paris Hilton.

Had to google the name to find out who she is. What did she do?

I can think of quite a few people who are more hated than a no-name blonde model.

How about instead of trying to appeal to America's supposed latent pedophilia by gossiping about the trevails of some scantily clad teenager, our mainstream media provides us with some real, pressing news for a change?

Any one of the links above contains information on a topic that I gaurantee will be more interesting. These are all issues that demand our attention. You want to "stop Paris Hilton?" Stop feeding the machine that wants to keep you fat, deluded, and entertained into compliance.

No worries Eddie. My rant wasn't aimed at you at all. This is a big problem here in the U.S., where our information is filtered through a fine sieve with an eye toward entertainment and spin, over substance and integrity. It's frustrating.

I think people dislike Paris Hilton because of what she represents. This is both cultural and political. Politically she represents the effortless success of the already priviledged. Culturally she has managed to achieve pretty high level celebrity simply by being the hard partying daughter of very rich people (and of course by being less than careful about who she lets video her in bed  )
. She is the embodiment of pointless celebrity.

It's not drunk driving, this one was for driving without a license. 45 days is a absurd sentance and the most she will get out of it is a few weeks I bet once she is in.
