There was a post by this Hung mei individual that said the guns are NOT good for self-defence and things like that, anyone that KNOWS John knows that he would never say that and that he has many times advocated a firearm for self defence OVER any MA system.

Does appear there was a thread on that forum about Terry's posts and some grumbling that Mike Parrella shouldn't have stuck his nose into it. Then there is another thread which is like a cut and paste of Parrella's email to Jack and Jack's response....

The two threads I have read did not mention me at all from what I saw, and if Springer has an issue with Parrella over Parrella's post on his lineage that is between the two of them.....

Still leaves a mystery as to whether it is Springer on the Doo Wai forum

This is so true. Only in CMA do we judge skill based solely on demos found on youtube. Only in CMA do we make grand proclamations about someone's ability despite having never touched hands with them, nor ever having spoken to anyone who has. Only in CMA do we hold the arrogant perspective that because someone plays their forms differently than the way "we" do that "they" are either A) doing it wrong or B) fabricating the whole thing. It's a silly argument about who amongst us is the best shadow boxer, as if from there real fighting ability can be extrapolated. If only boxers had the sense we do! They wouldn't need to risk their health fighting each other in the ring, they could just submit videos of themselves working a speed bag and a heavy bag and let the *cough* objective and *cough* unbiased message board community determine the inevitable outcome!

Makes you sort of wonder "who are these guys, who did they study with, and where"? The people I know from NYC, who studied in Chinatown, who were there "back in the day" all seem to remember the same things I do ;)

My experience with TCMA is much more limited than with JMA, but I caa say this, all the old school JMA and even KMA guys I know, are all a bunch of *******s and I say that with warm feelings in my heart.

They'd intimidate them by putting out lit cigarettes on their knuckles... not exactly MOO (Martial) DUK (VIRTUE) KWAN (INSTITUTE) that you'd expect :D
