NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) - It's called "battle dancing" and it's killed a man in Connecticut.

Police in New Britain say they were told Robert Stitt said he wanted to outdo a dance move another man had done by flipping in the air. The two were in a parking lot with a James Brown tune playing on the radio.

Stitt's friend says the 48-year-old man tried to do a forward flip, and landed on his head. According to police, Stitt went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police say there were several people in the parking lot, drinking and playing the game in which people try to one-up each other with dance moves.

I'm just not sure how to respond to this one...

there is a mat with step prints on it.

you play the video on TV and follow the dance steps on the screen by stepping on the mat.

you may find it in a video arcade, too.

I was wondering if people may do the same for MA practice/stepping.

You Make Me Feel Like Gancing (http://www.gancing.com/files/gance_preview.mpg)
A recent issue of Stuff Magazine described the latest dance craze hitting the clubs: Gancing. That's short for guy-on-guy dancing. Not gay dancing, mind you. This is heterosexual (or metrosexual) guy-on-guy dancing. The theory is that this is actually a great strategy for picking up women, since the women are turned on by the sensitivity of the dancing men. There are various 'gances,' such as the Shark, in which one guy pretends he's a shark and chases another guy around the dance floor.

It was suppose to be something made up by stuff, but I've done seen IT! I saw it before Stuff did the story, in hip hop clubs no less.

I don't think sharking is one guy pretending to chase the other. I think he is chasing the other... knee jerk reaction to seeing someone walking up to you twitching like that. Almost looks like rabies convulsions...

Oh No!

It's been brought.

Next thing you know, it'll be on.

We all know what happens after that.

Lord, I am about to age myself, but what most people call breakdancing used to be called just Brooklyn and was a "dance fight" with one guy trying to outdo the other, never saw anyone die or get hurt but it could have happened, lots of tumbling, gymnastics and suicide dives on concrete back in those days.....

Need to get my walked now, I'm old

maybe it's just me, but a dude doing push ups with his legs relatively extended and his feet not touching the ground doesn't seem very 'ghey' to me. Do a google or yahoo search for "buana aka junior" and see what I'm talking about.

This is what happens when breakin 2 electric boogallo goes bad.

r.i.p to the battle dancers who have given their lives in the name of quadracepal street cred.

booyah!
