I learned this form from my taiji teacher who learned it in China from Yu Hi's son. They call him the "God of Mantis" on the mainland.

Deadly video!

Hey, is your teacher Ronnie Yee? Student of Joseph Chen?
If so, me and some of my classmates have visited your school a few times!
Ronnie is amazing!

Very cool, I really like the way he does the form. Looks so much different than many of the current people who do that form in competition (probably because the vast majority don't actually have a mantis background). Most people now days take the performance "wiggling", which is a very small part of his performance here, and really make that the emphasis. I can't judge it from a mantis perspective, but in general Yu Hai here is strong, precise, and very under control.

I have the whole tape, circa 1976 I believe. Just loaded with inspiring wushu, at least inspirational to me.

Yu Hai is really cool, I strongly admire him, in fact, the first time I ever read Kung Fu Magazine was when he was on the cover and they had that great article about him.
