Hello,
I am trying to source the herbs for Tom Bisio's tendon lotion formula. Does anyone know what a good substitute herb is for Ma Huang?

Thanks,
Matt

Why not just buy Mahuang? I heard it is unbanned now.

Hello,
Thanks for the response. I have been searching the internet in hopes of finding it, but no luck so far. Does anyone know who sells Ma Huang online?

Thanks,
Matt

I know someone who sells it from her store. I'll get here email address and pm it to you. She doesn't usually ship the stuff though.

Not aware of any commonly accepted subs out there for ma huang, but you could try Gui Zhi. Aside from being a fairly commonly used herb in this type of recipe, both are Wind-Cold releasing herbs and both induce perspiration and disperse cold. There are several 2nd order differences between the 2 though...
