How do you train it and why? What's the differences?

Parallel:

Stronger from the side.

If you practice throws, or sweeps involving throwing someone over your knee (after unbalancing them by stepping behind their leg with a horse), it protects your knee much better, especially if they're big, because your knee isn't ****ed outwards, and so won't collapse under pressure.

depends on why you are doing it. for stance training, angle them. having them parallel can put a lot of stress on the knees, so I wouldn't advise holding them in such a position for a long period of time.

having them parallel is great for throwing a guy, as wookie stated

Even when I practice, I prefer parallel. I know what you're saying Seven*. But If you force yourself down, you get that killer stretch, and that hamstring workout that does you a world of good. Granted, I don't like doing horse training without a good full stretch beforehand. When I do 'em cold, that's the only time I feel it in the knees.
