Hello,

Sorry for posting this again. I have read a few post on this already. I will be moving to vancouver soon. I am looking for a kung fu school which has some sparring. The style doesn't really matter. I have read that there is/was school here that is teaches Tai Sing Pek Kwar Mun, which has a teacher that does sparring. Is this school still around?

Thank you
-P

Check out www.sixharmoniesmantis.com if you want apps and sparring.

:eek:No more Tai Shing Pekwar, Master Chan has closed his school. Apparently he is currently teaching once a week to some of the more loyal students but that is only until he returns to Hong Kong where he is retiring.

As to other schools check out the this thread where I gave a full list of CMA schools with notes on those that spar;

Thank you Fire Palm. Thats a pity.

Do you know if the North Shaolin schools here do any sparring?

Is there any schools you recommend that might do both traditional martial arts + some sparring once in a while?

Well I mention most of them on the list that do sparring but if you want my personal opinion I would say the best choices of the good traditional schools that also do sparring are;

Wilkie Wu's Bak Mei http://www.bakmei.ca
Wilson Wu's Kung Fu Ocean http://www.kungfu-ocean.com
Shouyu Liang Wushu Institute http://www.shouyuliang.com
Marquis Lung's Northern Shaolin http://www.northernshaolin.com
Jon Funk's Praying Mantis Kung Fu http://www.mantiskungfu.com

Downside is these schools and most of the other CMA schools do some sparring training but few are heavily into sparring / application training so if that is what you are looking for then I suggest you visit as many schools as you can till you find one that works for you.

Anyhow that's my advice!
