I was born w/half my right arm missing----

Started MA w/ karate at about 10-----

Got involved w/a northern Kung Fu system (my intro to KF) in my early 20's

I discovered Hung Ga (living in LI) and felt very comfortable w/it & thought that the southern systems hand techniques meet my needs well----

Moved to FL and got involved w/ Lee Koon Hung Choy Lay Fut school were I met my Shihing Joe Keit, who took the CLF forms & did a GREAT job adapting them for me-----I really regret that I cant attend classes regulary as I really enjoy the CLF system as well as the LKH school---

I'd stick with taijiquan. It works when you have 2 arms, 1 arm or no arms. If I had no arms or no legs, I'd bite opponents beore they got a robohand sandwich and get kicked by the sharp edge of my robofoot.

I used to train with Tiet-Sow and I can vouch for him. He is one fierce muthafukka. He does more with one than many can do with two.
But...never,never get in a car with him.;)

the serak style of silat is supposed to have been invented by a guy with one arm according to a dan insoanto seminar i have which is why it has such an emphasis on sweeps and throws that dont rely on gripping with the hands

then again this guy is pretty impressive too

pass.
The way you drove that rx-7, I thought we were doing aerobatics!
Bro-I didn't feel ok with you on the ground, ya think I'll get in a freakin plane?!

For those that don't know it, Tiet-Sow had this fast lil rx-7, which he would drive as if he were on fire. Mike is a very fast, hard aggressive fighter, perfect for CLF,and he drives pretty much the same way! CLF on wheels!
-and wouldn't ya know it, the guy has one arm, so I'm sitting there thinking,"Jeez, he can hardly hold the fukin wheel!" and on top of that, God forbid he compensates and gets an automatic-NOOOOOOO, he has a fukin standard shift that he shifts with his , um..half an arm(?) so we're flyin down the road, whippin in and out of traffic, passing cars like they're standing still, I am in the passenger seat, making out my last will and testament...and he goes, "Ya wanna hear some tunes?"
aaagggghhhh! what are ya gonna use, your foot?!FUK!
and he wants ta know if I wanna get in a plane...an AEROBATIC PLANE!!!!

-just messin wit'cha, Bro!

-but, no, I'm still not going.

If I am thinking of the same guy, he also had a bum leg. When I was in JKD, they told us about a style of silat by a guy with one arm and a bum leg that he had to drag around.

And it's funny how many lame excuses I hear from healthy classmates at all the schools I've been to about why people can't practice, or don't have the time, or they simply can't do that, even though they wished they could.

My previous sifu had a series of techniques that were basically using only one arm. His point was that there are times when this may be the circumstances that you find yourself in. And, its not just being wounded; what if you are holding books in an arm while you are going to class? What if you are escorting someone, or transporting someone, and you only have a hand free. It has merit I think. When I saw the one armed form, I thought 'hey, cool! someone actually has a form for this stuff...'

A couple of years ago there was an NCAA D1 wrestler with no legs from the knees down who did really well, I'll find out his name and try to search out some vids.

"Don't matter, he don't come when ya call anyway."
