Kind of cool. I don't know what style that is (I'm no southern stylist), but I know not too long ago they had a number of foreign teachers there teaching the new/imported monks some Southern styles. It was only 2003 so I think the Southern Temple would have been very newly rebuilt. I guess the "monks" would probably have been imported from the northern temple, or newly hired.

in one of the past shaolin special issues there is an article on the southern temple and what styles were taught there. i will look it up when i get home.

the style the southern monks train is 'five ancestors boxing' (chin: wuzuquan 五祖拳)

here are some more videos of this style:

im not saying i can do that....but that looked rigged...it doesnt look like he is even trying and dat thing bends and breaks...wht kind of metal is it..i know there A LOT of metals and some are REALLY easy to break...like the kind the *shaolin monks* use on their heads ......

not really impressed.....

but if it was real..mad props to him

it did look kind of brittle when he pulled it off. but it took some pretty strong hits and just bent a little.

but regardless of the metal, look at dude's arms. in the chinese he was saying his skin has become hard and thick like it has been turned into leather. thats why the girl kept trying to pinch and pull it but couldnt get a good grip like normal skin.

his arm is kinda freaky lookin'.

when there i a void of information, someone will step up to fill that vacuum.

this is best to describe the southern shaolin temple in its current incarnation.

20 years from now, people will think it's always been there! :p
