Found this on rottentomatoes -- it is not officially confirmed but wanted to see what you all think about this...

I also read an interview with Brett Ratner and he has talked about trying to get Yao Ming to appear in the film so he can film a tribute of sorts of the Bruce Lee/Kareem fight, though somewhat in reverse by using Chris Tucker vs. Yao Ming. Pretty corny idea if you ask me though I'm sure would get some laughs.

Will Jackie Chan Face Van Damme in "Rush Hour 3?"

Jen Yamato writes: "According to internet rumors, Brett Ratner might be on his way to assembling that dream cast for "Rush Hour 3," as the Muscles from Brussels himself -- Jean-Claude Van Damme -- has reportedly revived speculation of his involvement in the Jackie Chan-Chris Tucker screen reunion.

Rumor of Van Damme's involvement in the third "Rush Hour" flick has been floating around for a few months now, as even IMDB has had him penciled in to possibly play a character called Bruno Cavalier in the Ratner project. Yesterday an AICN posting reported that Van Damme had appeared on British TV confirming the role to some degree, although official confirmation has yet to come.

The AICN rumor also reports that the plot of "Rush Hour 3" will see stars Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker battling the Triads again -- in Paris. It also, strangely, claims that Michael Richards -- yes, Kramer from "Seinfeld" -- will have a role in the pic.

So far, the "Rush Hour 3" production has definitely inked returner Roselyn Sanchez to reprise her role as Isabella Molina, although the early word is that her role this time around will be significantly smaller.

Ratner announced his dream cast a few months back, and it's one helluva lineup: Gong Li, Aishwarya Rai, Tony Jaa, and Houston Rocket Yao Ming (in a bizarre recreation of the Bruce Lee-Kareem Abdul Jabbar match up, with Chris Tucker fighting the 7'6" center)...making the thought of Van Damme coming out of direct-to-video retirement a bit less of a stretch.

And while we're on the subject of "Rush Hour 3" casting rumors, let's not forget Van Damme's fellow action star, Steven Seagal. Seagal has repeatedly voiced his interest in playing opposite real-life buddy Jackie Chan, and was supposedly up for the villain role now supposedly nabbed by Van Damme.

But timing may be the problem for Seagal's "Rush Hour 3" aspiration; production on the pic begins in mid-August, leaving little time for Seagal to shoot before he kicks off his European "Mojo Priest" blues tour in September...get your tickets now!

its old news but it's not going to happen van damms name was removed from the imdb list, the last time i checked, but it would've been cool. but he will be back in theaters soon. in a film with wesly snipes forgot what it is called but he plays snipes bodygaurd or something.

Looks like this movie is finally going to hit theaters on Aug. 10th. The whole "reverse" Bruce Lee vs. Kareem fight will be recreated with Sun Ming Ming now instead of Yao Ming. I heard Yao Ming had turned down the role because he was afraid of how it would affect his image in China -- he didn't want to play the "bad guy."

It also appears they are going are doing a variation of the old Abbott and Costello "Who's on First?" bit.

read the article gene posted. the chinese government is allowed only so many foreign films into the country a year, and it just so happened that they had already reached their quota by the time rush hour was released. it doesn't sound like it was banned for its content.

(May contain Spoilers)I saw this movie and depending on how you look at it this movie was either really good or really bad. If you’re expecting to see a really cool fight between Chan and sanada then don’t see this movie. If you expecting any martial arts at all like we had in the previous two then don’t see this movie. But if you want to laugh you f ucking head off. And see some mildly impressive action then go see this movie. This was deffenatly the most funny out of the three. But it’s also a rehashing of the first movie and also the second as it follows the theme of follow the rich white man in the previous two you’ll know who the true villain is from the first time he’s introduced. That being said Chan and tucker had great chemistry in this one. It’s almost like nothing was lost. Only thing I wished they explained in the film was (spoiler) how the hell carter shot Isabel in the neck when they were in New York(May contain Spoilers)I saw this movie and depending on how you look at it this movie was either really good or really bad. There's nothing that unexpected to report in this film that you can't already surmise from the title, so here are some spoilers. Jackie is unusually stiff. He's obviously phoning in all of his American films, which makes Kung Fu Panda look promising. Chris is funny, but not as funny as everyone claims (although I might cop his line about Redbull and honey someday - might have to swap honey for nachos tho...). The heavily-touted 'who's on first?' scene was already done in RH2 (or was it RH1?) and is not particularly funny. The NGs are some of the best bits, especially Jackie's list of fav porn flicks. The scene where Roman Polanski anally violates Jackie and Chris is very disturbing. The Jackie vs. Hiroyuki Sanada fight is mediocre - back in the day that would have really been atop the Eiffel Tower and it would have been death defying. The Jackie vs. Youki Kudoh fight is also mediocre - never can figure out where all those throwing knives are coming from. The Chris, Jackie and Sun Ming Ming fight is funny mostly because of the way a kung fu school is depicted now: kids with wushu da dao and monk robes, a blind master, a mishmash of Chinese and Japanese architectural elements - if only, if only... Max von Sydow's role can be seen from miles and miles away. Youki Kudoh and Jingchu Zhang turn in amazingly unimpressive performances, especially since they are positioned to do much better. The Chris-eats-mushu-pork-&-Jackie-eats-fried-chicken-to-Elton-John comes off as strangely racist. Ratner needs to redo Showgirls - there's several tips of the hat to it with the scenes with Noémie Lenoir - she's quite stunning, and that voice, that French accent, oh la la. Yvan Attal's comments as a Frenchman on Americans are funny. Honestly, my favorite part of this film was the Lalo Schifrin soundtrack, which echoes Enter the Dragon.

At least it makes Craig's WAR review (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/ezine/article.php?article=726) make more sense.

Yea that roman Polanski thing was disturbing and it made a lil angry since he “anally probed” that 13 year old and this is back in the day when 13 year old looked like 13 yro so I was like ewww roman.

I went to see the movie while my car's tires are being changed.

I was a little confused about who is the villain. (spoilers alert!!!)

1. the girl with 13 or 15 names tatooed on the back of her head. If she "volunteered" for the job or not. If she did, then why she would run away and give the info to consul Han?

2. Japanese brother would kill JC no matter what. Or he only had to protect the secrets of 500 years triad. (actually triad history is a lot shorter than that) JC would save him no matter what b/c they grew up together in the orphanage?

3. Su Young is the daughter of an official. no need to teach in a kung fu school in chinatown?

well if you are into actions/stunts, some humors, it is a fun ride.

I like the ending that the taxi/cab driver turned up and saved the day.

I am biased. I like JC movies in the 70's. He "fought" from the beginning to the end of the film. not so much saying words or actually developing a story line.

I like the "snake shape and cat hand" and "drunkard boxing".

as far as hollywood made movies.

I like "medallion" and "around the world in 80 days". I like the story. however, they do not do well in the ticket sale/box office.

"Rush hours 1 and 2" made more money.

sometimes, good movies do not sell well. or the ones I like.:D;)

I laughed so hard when I first saw it in the 70's.

even today, I would laugh if I watch it again.

I am a big fan of the franchise. Regardless if people didn't think that Chan and Tucker are considered incompatible, they both made me laugh!
I liked the first one and my personal favorite would probably be part 2. So many things happening in HK and LA...plus the on screen appearances of Ziyi Zhang and Roslyn Sanchez. ;)

Regarding the part 3, I have to say that I was a bit disappointed. Maybe it was because it took place in France? They pulled it off in "Kiss of the Dragon." But more so than that, I felt the last movie lacked the "heart" and commitment that was present in the first two. It seemed like this one was put together rather quickly. Those were my first impressions when I first saw it during it's opening month. I plan to review the movie again...I am a fan of the franchise.

i totally wouldn't say that the two have lots of chemistry. it's just rush hour three sucked. i'm glad they gonna put a bullet in it and do something else. they can be the new bing crosby and bob hope. i always thought about how come they don;t have those comedy duo's anymore.

Nothing is really ever 100% when you have a comedy duo like Jackie and Chris.

Like I said before, they were able to make me laugh...and I don't doubt a lot of other people as well. Part three was my least favorite but the overall impression that Chan and Tucker left was that they work well together. They play off of each other's shortcomings and strengths and the lasting effect is that people will always remember that these two made them laugh.

Well, they usually stop at the third installment when it comes to sequels. Comedy duos have their place...anyone a fan of Harold and Kumar? :p
