A new instructor approached my class last tuesday to spread word about his opening school. Apparently he moved to OKC from somewhere in Kansas, and his name is 'Sifu Goen' according to his website. My sifu were unsure about his style/background and figured we'd post here to see if anyone has any information about himor his White Willow Kung Fu. He only showed up to talk, so we were unable to see his kung fu, so any help would be much appreciated.

is the website, he describes taiji as a healing art only, which is a load of **** :P, and says that his sifu created a new style, which also flies some red flags in my mind. I also shy away from the 'we teach a highly applicaple fighting art with no falling techniques or rolling techniques will be taught' thing.

Any info is greatly appreciated!

That made me lol. No falling, no rolling "Highly applicable, in certain situations only."

There are better places to train in and around OKC.

Hmm... after a bit more looking into the matter (youtubing 'white willow' :P) Here's a video of 'sifu' goen, feel free to check out his other vids too. He's a super nice guy, but I don't think he has any business opening up a school.

That's his 'tai chi'.

P.s. Yeah MK, I knew you live around OKC, where do you train (If you don't mind my asking :D )

He needs some serious stance training and transition work.

Of course I should not talk much as I too need it. But at least I am not teaching and I have bad knees. :p

Hmm.....deja vu....I think I have seen that response somewhere before. Surely I am mistaken.
