For me it happened on 3 occassions.

Summer before I went to H.S. I got mistaken for some other kid. Me and 3 of my friends were waiting for the bus. Some mexican dudes just jumped us. For some reason 4 of these guys jumped on me and started pummeling me. I had bruises in every part of my body. This fight was broken up by the cops and my ass got a ticket for public disturbance even though I was the one getting beat down.

Military days. Was as a club in Long Beach, CA. Fight broke out. Someone took a swing at me. I took a swing back. Then suddenly everyone was taking their shots at me. Bouncer came and slipped out the back. Came away with a bunch of bruises scrapped up elbows, black eye, sore jaw and busted lip. I didn't even know what the fight was about or who was fighting. Fight probably only lasted like 2-3mins. but man did I take a hit from every angle.

My black belt test. Sparred 3 on one. I came away with a black eye and 2 fractured ribs.

If you count fighting in the ring at comps. I have been knocked out once with a hook kick. Walked into a front ball kick and broke a nose. Walked into a spinnin backfist and got rocked enough to drop to my knees. Got clocked by a hook punch, knocked me out and broke my nose. Geeshhhh, its no wonder I never win. :(

I got into a scuffle in front of a subway with this guy who kept trying to get me to follow him into an alley, so we started getting physical, i tripped him and slammed him against a wall, and that's when his three friends broke beer bottles over my head/temple, and kicked me on the ground.
I broke my jaw, and bruised the left side of my face.
After that I started taking training a lot more seriously, and always watch my back now.

Ya, I got jumped something heavy when I was a teen.

I was layed out for a week, swollen, broken, bruised, bloody and beaten.

After that incident is when i started carrying blades and decided I would try to kill anyone that ever tried to do that to me again.

other than that the usual, split lips, cracked nose, busted my ribs a few times "sparring", I remember getting rocked by an inside crescent my first time sparring in kungfu, bit THROUGH my mouthpiece and cracked a tooth. dropped me to my knees, got back up and took a outside to the face lol, but i didnt drop that time. That was when I started developing my instinct to keep my hands up LOL :D

LOL. :D

I taught this kid a while back. He would spar with his hands down ala Tae Kwon Do. His dad asked me if there was a way to get him away from that habit. I told his dad, "well, 3 things are going to happen. 1) he will get really fast at blocking 2) he will eventually learn to put his hand up. 3) he will get used to getting knocked out :D

Pasah.....that is baby stuff.

When I was a kid in highschool, on the weekends when my family went to the Mall they would tie my testicles to the rear bumper of the Bronco and drag me there.

If I did not cry once the whole way, then and only then would I get some ice cream.

You were lucky !
When I was kid I would get beaten every day, twice on Sunday, uphill, both ways, in the snow, and that was for being good !!

every day after i moved into a tough neighborhood at the age of five the nieghborhood kids formed jimi patrols. (i was jimi as a boy) They would search the entire area on the way home from school until one found me and brought the rest down on top of me from their hunting expedition. every day day after day, nose face teeth blood all over my clothes. I would hide it from my father by claiming it was playing around because i was not allowed to fight. soon he had had enough and i began my training. however i was still small and weak and could not stand up against the jimi patrols for a further 4 years.

On my ninth year i toppled their biggest with the business end of my evil kenevil lunchbox. Of course this only began the trials that were to follow. its hard to talk about such pummelling however it does mold a boy into a hardened man. I must say it is true the more your hit the better you get.

LOL! try having the kid hold a set of nunchuku in both hands, then do kicking drills. it helps it feel not so strange of them to hold thier hands up.

Got my tooth chipped, another cracked, a cut face, badly bruised ribs and a headache and miraculously nothing else after a crackhead pikey kicked the living bejeezus out of me and tried to drive his car over me once.

In MA in the gym/dojo, I've had my nose broken four times but I've yet to be stopped by a head shot. I was TKOed by a roundhouse to the solar plexus one time though.

My bro broke my nose the first time, to 45 degrees. Good right hook.

In a non-fight, my little sister KOed me throwing a big stick for my dog in the hills once! Had a nice big swollen bruise for a while.

Today me and a friend are gonna have a friendly sparring match. It all started last week when we were sparring and it was one of the best matches we've ever had together. It was a tie; we've never tied. Hell, I've never had any sparring match where I think I've tied. Case in point: it was great. So, I was talking to a friend of mine that does JJJ since part of my problem the last time was that while I am comfortable on the ground and know atleast basic submissions, my positioning was horrible. My grapling is mixed and comes directly from watching too much UFC, and my JKD training; so not much, but enough to get by. My buddy that takes JJJ does it from a basement school that seems to have probably less than 6 (there were only 3 guys last night, only two of which had ranks) students total, so off the bat it's not the same atmosphere as most schools. The teacher was very cool. He was very respectful of me and my art and he mentioned numerous weaknesses he saw in me and at each step he reminded me that he wasn't trying to pick on me or say that my art is bad or inferior. I kept calling him sir until he told me to just call him by his first name like everyone else.

Him and I started off with some very basic sparring, nothing real heavy, just getting a feel. Needless to say I got beat of course because the guy has more experience, more technique, and more power. He showed me how if it were a real fight he'd pick apart at me based upon my stance. My most common fighting stance is a slightly modified version of the 4/6 stance. He explained how he may take out my lead leg with a kick that can basically be described as the swiftness and direction of a Kali kick, but with the power of a Muay Thai kick. He could easily blow out someone's knee with it if need be. We sparred a couple of times and at first when I was more or less forced to adopt a JJJ stance due to his suggestions, I didn't like it a lot and it sort of confused me. I'm a traditional CMA guy and so I want to have my stance and all the little other stuff I do. But it occurred to me later that night that the stance I was using is simply an adaptation against a JJJ fighter. It doesn't mean that my stance is crap, or that I would not survive a different battle, but that's how I'd need to keep my stance around someone like him.

It was a great learning experience and he was very nice in that basically he made the entire class into teaching me proper position, weak points for me, and setting someone up or taking them out. He and I went at it a number of times and it was a great learning experience. I really like the kick he showed me; infact I like all of them he showed me as I more or less use them now just not with the same technique. When I would go to the ground, most of the time he was able to execute a technique right away, but sometimes I knew he was setting it up so I'd move as soon I could to displace it. When caught in a jam, I'd rely on small joint locks like squeezing the thumb inward to try to get him to let go, or I'd attempt to dig what little bit of my hand I could move into his S.C.M. (the muscle on the side of the neck that assists in moving it side to side), and one time I was trying to dig my elbow into his diaphragm. He showed me how he would keep a simple amount of control so that I would just wear myself out.

I was in 5th or 6th grade and had to walk several blocks to get my brother from kindergarten and walk back home with him.

one day for most of that walk a group of older kids, mostly girls, hit me with sticks and switches as I walked.

i was just glad they didn't decide to keep it up after I had my little brother with me

Well, the worst was going up against this guy that outweighed me by 25 pounds, several years younger and training for full contact tournaments and wanting to show off his prowess to a visiting Sifu. That was the closest I ever came to being knocked out! I got my licks in though!!:D
