I remember some idiot asking my sifu about the golden ****roach style at a tournament one time. My sifu be the wise arse that he is humored the guy and actually talked it up while the rest of us were trying not to fall on the floor laughing.

The Roaches style IS supposed to be one of the rare and mysterious SD styles, along with Ten Thousand Bees Attacking:rolleyes:

But Seriously there is one Style i saw on one of the "China's Living Treasures" Series and it was a whole form Dedicated to the TURTLE. Looked goofy but still was considered Rare.

In Shao-lin Ninjitsu, we have a form dedicated to the Golden Beast of Tian Chi, and one dedicated to the Owls of Meliki, as well as one imported from our Welsh clan adapted from Fujien Dog called "Snarly Yow eats the trow".

That's too bad. Still, a couple good sources for looking at some of the lesser known styles that we might not here about much in the west would be Kungfu Elements by Liang Shou Yu and http://www.plumpub.com. Plumpub has some nice articles and lots of cheap vcds of varying styles (and varying quality ;)). VCD's are mostly in Chinese though. There's some nice videos/DVD's at this website too. Gene could probably recommend a few...

Check out our 2000 January issue (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/magazine/article.php?article=107). There's some funkiness with the hyperlinkage, but the issue is still available at MartialArtsMart.com (http://www.martialartsmart.net/kf-200001.html).

I once knew this one female, she treated the man thing like hippies do mary jane when she would get drunk and black out...I'd be all like "Oh, here, I'm not thirsty have some more love."

The memories are golden...

Shaolin Hung Fut and Zi Ran Men are rare. frankly speaking 2 of the best when it comes to effectiveness in fighting.

Yup, coz most kungfu only know forms and drills but not in actual fighting.

That is why this generations crop of instructors needs to reconstruct the fighting of their style much the same way a bodyman restores an antique car.

thats the problem, mostly dont know because they only got the forms from their lineage, but not the essence of fighting.
