I was fishing through the normal garbage thats you find when you search "wing chun". I noticed this choke from a common position in clinching.

the fact is that I get to this position allot. I learned a move or two but I liked this one. I haven't tried it out, any comments? Anyone find any good clinching (thai or wrestling) clips?

LKFMDC whats that position called again? Can't you do the disassembly thing. LOL I can't seem to find anyone who wants to practice in VA. So its all memory at the moment.

That's just an arm triangle.

yah I like it. I have been pulling it on people and it seems to work pretty good. I am guessing that you don't want to put your hand on his head. Its probably better to put it on your head to prevent him trying to grab it.

I thought it was pretty funny seeing it on a Wing Chun center line DVD. I lost the center line application...

its a pretty simple choke, do you know of anymore ( from the clinch) that are that simple (yah i know the guillotine and rnc).

That choke is next to impossible to get in a standing position against anyone who has a clue and is resisting. I can't think of one example where someonne pulled that off from a standing position in any kind of competitive setting.

It's one of those theoretical moves that look impressive during a demonstration and seem like they should work, but don't actually work in a live environment against a resisting opponent.

He does say to take him down if you need to.
Monji, the thing is, guillotine is really high percentage, works well standing, and feeds well from a clinch. Don't make things complicated for yourself.
Here are some clinch training clips
