how many of you wear traditional or martial arts clothes outside of your school, just for daily activities?
me, I wear traditional Kung Fu uniforms when i go to school, or to hang out, etc.
I just love the way they look, they feel, and it creates individuality in me.
I don't wear the actual unifrom that is used in actual class, but rather the clothes you get from stores.

I have these

in black w/ white (cotton)
red w/ black (silk)
and i am going to be getting some more,
most likely navy like the first one, and an all white one.

how about you guys?

I walk around in my hakama all the time, the only time I ever got strange looks is when I decide to walk around in public with my traditional Pankaration fighting gear :D

I usually like to show up for a first date wearing my sumo attire.(I keep my cellphone on vibrate) If it is a more formal get together, I would wear a tie with it. of course, if it were a country western club like Denim and Daimonds, it would neccesitate a string tie.
Viscous Draggin, I hope if you wear that in NY, your clothing would be scotchguarded to allow for easy removal of bloodstains.

your homework for this weekend-rent "The Last Dragon"

then you might learn why we call people who wear Chinese outfits (unless they ARE Chinese) on the streets are called Bruce LeRoy
It's cute when you see a 5-yr old child wearing his cowboy hat and six-shooters on the street. Cause he's FIVE!

Dude It's not China in the 1890's.
You could also wear that today in China and still be laughed at.

Nice for around the house and maybe in public at Halloween but.....hey, whatever smacks your sack I suppose.

Oh in case you didn't know.

about the LARP thing, i am just expressing myself through what i like to wear, not trying to be a character, or someone else, or anyhting like that.
I have a firm reach on reality............dude, it is just a suit, nothing like you would see at Comic Con.

anyways, i think, so what if people laugh, because I laugh at the people who sagg and look like they just got out of jail. If people don't laugh at the emo's and hard rockers (no offense, just talking about their attire) then why would they laugh at a martial artist who has meaning behind what he chooses to wear???

i don't get it these days.
is there some kind of rule that says i can't wear what i want or i'll be hit with a LARP, and a "It's not 1890s china"

Nothing wrong with expressing yourself.
Forget the people making fun of you - people who express themselves like this is what makes life just a little less boring.

What about wearing something like one of these on top:

With a pair of boot cut jeans?
