I like what he said about non-HK Hung-Ga being different and that mainland Hung-Ga is shorter, tighter, with inch power, as well as his advice about making your Gung-Fu your own. Good stuff.

yeah i thougt that was very interesting and it proves that he's a good sifu. i've only had three sifu's in my life and each one talked about this. and i've met other sifu's who say this is the way its been done fo hundreds of years and this is the way it should continue without any alterations to make it your own. and they always have the kung fu kick boxers asi like to call them.

Bravisimo! Mark Ho is brash, in your face, pulls no punches. He has come right out and debunked myths, clarified concepts, and proven once and for all, that many of the "Emperors" have no clothes. He doesn't simply upset the applecart, he kicks it over! Love him, or hate him, one cannot deny that he has done and said what many people have wanted to, but lacked the cujones to do. Knowledge is power.

I agree. As a Hung practitioner it's inspirational to see someone with a hardcore passion for the art these days.
Makes me want to train harder.

"you can argue all you want, but if I knock you on your ass you have no point."

That's a strong quote of Mark Ho, and it exactly underlines what Kung Fu is all about.

Thanks a ton!

My old Jow Ga sihing told me "yat daam, yee lek, saam kung fu" in like 2003 and translated it the exact same way. :)

Of course you know, I gotta disagree with the boxing comment coz I think Jack Dempsey would eat almost any heavyweight alive for breakfast in his prime. :p

Of course you know, I gotta disagree with the boxing comment coz I think Jack Dempsey would eat almost any heavyweight alive for breakfast in his prime. :p

I think this comment is valid within the Hung Gar Family in particular, the Kung Fu community in general, and most of the asia fighting arts. Especially when there are equal conditions (size, weight, etc.)
If it also holds outside?....it's difficult to compare apples with oranges.

Just my 2 cents.
