if you are worried about a nuclear holocaust--

it would be wise to have a rocket and move to the moon.

the nuclear exchange from super powers will lay waste of the planet earth with radioactivity and a prolonged winter.

--

a titan base enclosure will not cut it.

talking about money spent "wisely".

--

my 2 pennies.

:D

nuclear holocaust? hmmm. well that would be a good way to get rid of a global zombie uprising. however, we would run the risk of the radiation making them into zombie mutants with crazy superpowers. i don't know if we'd even be safe in our missile base if that happened.

and on a side note; lock up your daughters, Arhat is on the prowl.

that stuff doesn't work anyway. It's a deterrent, not a functional technology. :D

1. Each missle silo/site was designed to survive a nuclear attack and launch a second strike.

however, the delivery of the first strike seemed to be focused more.

2. the mobile ss-x or surface to surface intercontinental ballistic missles (ICBM) changed the plain field.

the ability to strike back or strike from a place that nobody knows is the ultimate strategical deterent.

3. it depends on the tactics of mobility of the launching platforms, be it a sub in the deep ocean, b-52's circling the globe or the continent,

4. difficult to intercept a low flying cruise missle

--

etc etc.

in short, the silo may be made obsolete by smaller/smarter mobile vehicles to lauch a nuclear attack.

:D

cruise missiles launched from subs is where the nukes are that count.

all land based stuff is obsolete and has been for years.
