i'm just kidding i'm friends with a number of his students and his daughter angela is freaking hot. i wonder if he's going to do some fighting in this his bad knee and all i remember him having surgery on it. my friend reiko hata(who was actually in a few articles in kfm) was the double for the lead girl. so i heard about this film a while ago

I've only exchanged some emails with Angela. We worked with her to get an article on this up in our 2007 July/August issue (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/magazine/article.php?article=711): Kung Fu Thrives in the Kingdom of Fairy Tales: Xian Gao Ushers Danish Kung Fu Craze By Rose Saint-Stephen and Angela Gao. I've exchanged some emails with Reiko too, but never met her. She seems really nice.

It would have to be a rolling list. Personally, I like to give each film its own thread. It gives it a chance to breath and sits better in the archives. Also it gives us a place to link if we do an e-zine review. But I'm always eager for the advanced buzz. That's one of the reasons I like this particular forum so much.

Soooooo, why don't you start a thread on what you know about The Rebel? I've been hearing a lot of good buzz on that one. I'd start it myself, but I don't have anything to say about it yet.

everytime i try to talk about a film that doesn't really have any buzz it always fizzles out so i just wait until the film starts getting known.

Not to be confused with Fighting with Cung Le (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50719). ;)

Trailer for Danish Martial Arts Film “Fighter” (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/forum/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=806292)

I’ve been following Natasha Arthy’s Fighter ever since the initial trailers hit, and my anticipation for the film continues to grow as it slowly travels West-ward. The Danish film is about a teenage Turkish girl who finds herself outcast from both her family and society due to conflicting pressures. Ultimately, she finds solace in martial arts. On paper it sounds like a more dramatic Karate Kid, but the trailers also hint at some great Crouching Tiger-esque choreography. By many accounts, the film is phenomenal.

Now Twitch brings us the new UK trailer for the film, and while it starts off rather deceptively (you could easily imagine a dramatic Don LaFontaine reading of that opening text), it eventually rewards us with some great looking fight scenes. While it seems a bit wire-heavy at times, it’s done so well that I could easily imagine star Semra Turan could actually fly wuxia-style. This is not much of a surprise since the choreography comes courtesy of Xian Gao, who worked on both Crouching Tiger and Fong Sai Yuk.
