whatever inspire you, be it a painting, saying, poetry, story, music, --

I will start.

there was a saying from my teacher that I take hearts.

1. how well your kung fu is secondary. knowing how to be a good person is most important.

I asked why. --

You practice your kung fu to be good. you may think you are good, however, no matter how good you are, there is always someone out there that is better than you.

on the other hand, if you are not a good person, or dunno how to be a good person, then whatever kung fu you have is useless/wasted or it will not do you any good.

2. how skillful you are is secondary. knowing how to use tactics and strategy is most important.

we will always have good points/strength and weakness. knowing how to use our strength to the best and avoid our weakness is most important.

:D;)

There is not such a need for great force. Let the blade do the work for you. :p

In all seriousness though.

Nothing is ever just a block or just a strike. That slapping block can be a chop at the jaw line or the back fist can intercept a sloppy punch.

When an instructor asked his sensei DragonFly Jones " Hey DragonFly when are you gonna pay me. They're about to shut my power off in my apartment!"

DragonFly answered, "If you knew your ART! You would know your way in the DARK! Puuuuuuunk!"
