What is the connection between shaolin and tanglang? I noticed this (http://russbo.com/shaolin_gong_fu/tong_lang_quan.htm) on the russbo site. My sifu maintains that tai chi praying mantis is closest to the mantis originally taught at the shaolin temple. I also noticed that some tai chi praying mantis schools add "shaolin" to their name. Just curious...

If you check those lineages, they all go back to Wang Lang. I think that's about the only Shaolin connection you'll find.

Wasn't Wang Lang one of the 18 masters that helped develop and standardize formal Shaolin Kung Fu in the early Sung dynasty?
