ok i just read the sup ji thread all the way through and i was hoping you would post the video of you doing the form. i seriously don't want this thread to turn in to a continuation of any arguments but i think everyone that was an impartial observer to that train wreck of a conversation was hopping to see it. unfortunately (or maybe fortunately depending on how you look at it) that thread was locked before it could be posted. so if you get it digitized are you planning to post it? thanks.

first I had to find the tape, I think I did :p

but I don't have the technology to put it up, so I am relying on Mike (Lama Pai Sifu) to do it.... he said he will, but he's busy right now... patience grass hopper ;)

in the meantime enjoy "Dai Gam Gong"

It is one of the "prettier" forms we have in my opinion

Mike cut out the middle so that no one could learn the entire form, he actually cut out some of the Gam Gong palm moves. So it is actually a longer set. It is advanced

Of the sets I personally learned, this is how they broke down

Chou Kup (beginner)
Sahp Jih Kyuhn (Cross pattern)
Sahp Jih Kau Dau (Cross pattern trapping strike)
Sahp Jih Fuk Luhng Kyuhn (cross patter suduing a dragon)
Chat Sing Kyuhn (7 starts)
Chut Yip Bouh (in and out stepping)
Yun Tan Fuk Fu (Hero Yun Tan subdues a tiger)

Chung Kup (intermediate)
Siu Lo Han (Lesser Lo Han)
Siu Gam Gong (Lesser Diamond)
Dat Mo Kyuhn (Dat Mo fist)
Lin Waan Teui (continuous kicks)
Nhg Yihng Kyuhn (5 animals)
Gow Jih Lin Waan (9 sons continuous)
Tin Maahng Deih Saat (Heaven's Net ground fighting)
Lo Han Fuk Fu (Lo Han subdues a tiger)

Go Kup (advanced)
Lo Han Jeung Kyuhn (Lo Han Palm)
Fu Hok Seung Daau (Tiger and Crane Battle ie fight eachother)
Gam Gong Deih Saat (Diamond ground fighting)
Deih Maang Deih Saat (Earth's net ground fighting)
Dai Lo Han (Greater Lo Han)
Dai Gam Gong (Greater Diamond)
Chat Sahp Yi Tin Maang Deih Saat (72 heavenly net ground fighting)
Lo Han Teui (Lo Han Kicks)
Batt Duhn Go Sau (8 section advanced hand)
Sahp Duhn Go Sau (10 section advanced hand)

these are all hand sets

Dude...

Do the form at a "different pace" and such, but doing the form "incorrectly" on purpose is just wrong, better not to show it at all.

This is how crap happens down the road.

now I didn't do it, Mike edited the middle out.. but I sure do understand it. Do you have any idea how many people now claim to be instructors under CTS?

Guys who never met him, much less studied under him, guys who don't know their left hand from their right foot.... hey, you shouldn't be trying to learn a set from youtube anyway

That's a lot of sets!

I spent about 16 years with CTS, and I also helped him teach people so at times I was learning my set and learning someone else's so I could help them along at the same time

I didn't include the weapons (lots), the 12 hung kyuhn sets I learned, and the three Bahk Mei either :D

Hung Ga, Hung Kyuhn, Siu Lum Hung Ga, Siu Lum Hung Kyuhn, Hung Ga Kyuhn, Siu Lum Hung Ga Kyuhn, lol, all different names for the same thing. I never heard "kyuhn" being used over "ga" to distinguish between "village"/"old" vs. WFH Hung Ga.... I figured your sifu would have taught a "village" style. What was it like?

I did Wong Fei Hung (Dang Fong lineage) Hung Ga before I met Sifu Chan. I began to think of WFH lineage as "kung fu for white guys".. a bit dumbed down, standardized and smoothed out.... Sifu Chan's Hung had more variations in foot work, more "short hand" and eah set had it's own sort of unique flavor

to put a video on the web:eek:
YOU KNOW I ACTUALLY BELIEVE THAT
:p

get him to purchase a domain name
buy a hosting package
get a publishing program

(or YOUTUBE)

and a video editing program
and of course you will need a computer
and video recorder
then
doing it can be a great teacher and lots of fun:D
he will be able to get up to speed....................

No I think LPS got it right on the button!

to me
in this modern day it is difficult to operate "professionally"
if you cannot use the basic tools
