what did they use to make the swishing effect of nunchuks in the Bruce Lee movies-as well as the hits?

two sticks waiving back in forth under an extremely sensitive recording mic. its not really special effects its just sound effects.

Foley crews in the film biz. have a sound designer that usually takes care of the specialized sound effects on a movie during post production.

I love the sound the Shaw movies got when metal hits wood during a weapon fight.
