ok, before people start posting things liek "why was that closed" and "where did that post go".

when you see a closed topic, read the last post in the thread. there will generally be an explanation in it as is the case with the "I got beat up" post.

If the thread is one of drunken monkeys semi-porn posts, I'll usually just delete those ;)

Also anything racist will be deleted.

If there are salvagable items in a closed thread, please restart another thread or make a request via e-mail and I willtake the time to filter the post and leave the good stuff.

Most of the time, I don't have time to do the filtering but if someone takes the time to e-mail me then I will return the effort.

peace

This time I do not agree with you, Kung Lek...you don't have the proof it is a troll, even if it might be one (at least it's a subtle troll). What bothers me on the fact that you closed this "I got beat up" thread is that somehow a good question is raised: if you pit a guy with one year of muai thai against a guy with one year of taiji, what happens and why? Well, pretty obvious, but is it so sure? What can be done about it...you know, all kinds of things...
I believe you closed this one too fast, there was no insulting posts and even if it smelt like a troll it could as well have been a very valid question...
Compared to how some inflammatory/irrelevant/whatever posts stayed waaayyyyy too long here, I find that this particular locking is too precipitated...
But maybe it's just me...

Fair enough :)

So, anyone else want me to filter that and reopen it?

Crimson, I really think that was a pretty sketchy post as there wasn't anything said about what was lacking in the tai chi, the player and the art from a combat perspective.

To me I saw it as a semi clever attempt at dissing a chinese martial art for tyhe sake of dissing a chinese martial art again without any substantial background info. (the error in the post was quite obvious too ;) )

Let us be dissed, If we can't defend our arts, in verbally, why practice them?

Yeah, well, true, after re-reading the post it smells cheesier and cheesier...but I have to say that was one subtle troll if it was one...I seriously believe that in every martial arts you can find peeps that are too sure of their skills after only several months of training. Maybe some persons just think that given the good rep' of Chen Taiji they can just go around and mess with Thai boxers after only a short period of training, who knows?
In other words, I'm still wondering if it was a real troll, or just a mislead practicionner...
Dunno, do as you wish, after all, you're the mod ;)

jeezus crimson pheonix... your troll radar must be malfunctioning. - that post just SCREAMS T-R-O-L-L!!! - maybe it's time for you to get your antenna checked.

i say, delete the offending post, ban the ip address, hunt down the phucker, and open a jumbo can of whoop arse!

Why would you say that I am insane? I wouldn't say that I've lost my mind simply because I've heard the voices and seen the godless things moving in the woods. If anything, I think more clearly now than ever before. - Ash

MaFuYee, yes, it could be an issue, I am aware that often my compassion generator and my no-a priori-scan warp the signals from my troll-o-meter so that it cannot detect trolls as efficiently ;)
