Buying a pole online?

Did a quick search and know this has been asked on here before but couldn't find it... maybe my forum-fu is weak but anyway,

Anyone recommend any online pole suppliers who'd ship abroad (Japan - for extra dollar of course)?

I'd have to recommend a great UK Supplier called Pagoda Imports, seeing as Derek has already had a mention! I'm sure they will deliver to Japan if you ask nicely! Some of the nicest feeling poles I've ever seen and delivered to you straight out from China.

That looks like the job... I would hope that they could organise for one to be sent directly from China to Japan rather than from China to UK to Japan, but not a lot makes a fat lot of sense on this crazy hill o beans. I'm waiting on a reply from an acquaintance of mine in HK first but if that comes to nowt I'll be straight on the keyboard to Pagoda n Co.

Can't you use a big piece of bamboo? I noticed a lot of bamboo forests around the outskirts of Tokyo. Surely there would be something appropriate. FWIW I just bought a piece of doweling from a hardware store, about 1.5" x 9'. But I guess that might be harder to find in Tokyo.

this guy i know has killer poles, long , strong, and ready to get it on, kung fu of coasrse, amazing penetrating power, and everyone who has touched his pole has never gone for another, if you know what i mean:D:D:D

There has to be good woodworkers or staff makers in Japan. Maybe you could get someone to make you a tapered on one end WC staff/pole. If you have one shipped to you it may be warped. I've seen that happen before.
