Very cool, thanks for posting. Is the footstool a traditional set in that lineage?

i don't know if the small stool is a traditional form, meaning one of the original sets.

older forms, newer forms, both have a rightful place in this world.

in some cases i'd rather learn a newer form because you can actually ask the creator of the form specific questions, as opposed to learning old forms, or from manuals.

from what i understand, in fut san we have our traditional forms, but newer ones are being invented since the new gung fu explosion in china.

stout, i have to ask the name of that form, there are so many now i lose track.

thanks diego, i hope you enjoyed it. its about time fut san hung sing began sharing our forms for the world to see. for so long, its all been Chan family clf, not that thats bad, just that its time for something different.

yeah, that kid is pretty good in my opinion. he is the son of Sifu Wong ShenJiang, the manager of fut san hung sing......but his sword and shield is also on point as well.

Sifu Lok doing Fut San Kau Da/Ping Kuen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4BHsSObQDs)

and

Yuen Hai lineage Sup Ji Kau Da (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwWPUhNZ5vo)

Now, the coolest thing about these two forms is this.....

As i always say......our lineage is one of the oldest in hung sing history......and we've been outside of china for over 80 years strong now. to go back and find forms that resemble ours in a major way was such blessing.

our stuff hasn't changed since Prof. Lau Bun learned it, but check it out for yourselves.....do you see the similarities between these two forms?

i think the kid moves like a grown man.....what do you think?

he doesn't really move like a kid.

yeah, I am v surprise that he has attained that level at his age. He must be very into it. The way he illustrate is pretty much the way I aim to do my CLF. The fluidity, looseness, deliverence of force and amount of extension is "Hung Sing" as I know it.

must be a good passing of chi through hand to hand transmission...the kung fu kid clip Laukarbo linked made me think I can really see an old muscular chinese guy ghosting the kids gung fu:)....reincarnation....

Couldn't agree more. Both my Sifu and I use forms we've created when teaching, especially in the beginning stages. I asked because in some way I can't put my finger on it felt a little un-traditional to me, but I like it a lot!
