started for a lot of reasons. health/fitness but didn't want a traditional gym. there were no sports for adults after i left college where i lived. appreciation of the culture and history. too many movies. boredom. but why i joined isn't as important to me as why i stayed. i ended up loving it. it was the comraderie and the constant challenge to improve myself.

Most of the MA, I studied in the past had this KILL, KILL, KILL THE ENEMY ALL!!! Attitude. I never felt good about that although I would try this that and the other thing. Then about four years ago, I studied Kung fu because it ephasized Physical, mental, and spiritual fitness. I liked that! Seeking to perfect myself so to help others and make a better world! Ok, time to get off the soap box!!! (Smile)

I wanted to set the world record for the World's Fastest Kill. There was this guy who lived three houses down from the Ukenos, and he had the World's Fastest KO (aside from Frank Dux's dubious claim....but that's another story). So, I challenged him to a match, and killed him in less than .3 seconds with a naginata thrust to the throat.

The poor b@stard didn't have a chance.

What does the link have to do with the first part of your post?

yes. I meant to say.

anything kung fu needs a lot of practice/repetition to be good.

MA practice and music, too.

It is very nice song. but to play it well, takes some time.

etc etc.

I was hanging out on the road to Damascus wearing this totally 80's mirrored jacket when this dude with a New York accent walked up, sheilding his eyes from the reflection. I thought he wanted money or something, so I told to leave me alone, 'just go learn kung fu or something...'
