I feel
1. BRAVERY
2. SPEED
3. POWER
4. TECHNIQUE
what do you consider Important.
In all fighting, the direct method may be used for joining battle, but indirect methods will be needed in order to secure victory.

we practice or drill some techniques or counter techniques,
the opponent also practices and drills some moves, too.
to win.
1, if we are faster and more powerful enough than the opponent, we may win.
2. but if the opponent is physically and skillfully faster and powerful, than us.
then we have to out smart or out maneuver in stepping and timing.

courage yes but with knowing our ability and that of the opponent.
1. Kung fu is not only about the skills of the hand and leg
quan jiao kung fu 拳脚功夫
2. but also not to use courage of one man in vain.
cheng pi fu zhi yong 逞匹夫之勇
3. most important of all.
kung fu is about understanding and assessing the conditions/odds and timing of everything in a fight and life in general
sheng shi du shi 省时度势

To be a fighter and enter a fight, you must have either an animalistic anger and desire for winning, or you must have a sense of fearlessness.
That and you must be alive.
