so ok this was briefly mentioned by gene in the jackie chan charity thread. but this kinda thing needs its own thread. what am i talking about you ask? i'm talking about edison chan and his 1300 sex pictures with all these hong kong actress's like gillian chung, maggie Q, cicilia chung among others. now i have viewed these pics, its a public forum so i don't know if gene would allow me to post the link to where you can download at least 300 of them. edison chan has left the hong kong film industry over the incident he was the one who actually leaked the photo's(probably because he's poised to make a leap over hear and wanted something to jolt him). as for the star nekked photo's lets just say bush came to hong kong and i'm not talking about the president.and lots of it to. anyway alot of the female stars are saying they were taking secretly without there permission but when you look at the pics its very clear that they had knowledge of the pics. my thing edison must have some real game to convince these girl to do that ****. especially the ones of gillian toping him off, and he got the P.O.V. shot only way she couldn't know about that was if he had the camera in his **** eye.

No post-ee porn please. Handling this outside the forum was the proper way to do it. Much as I admire Maggie Q and Cecilia Chung, we try to keep our forum here a family show, so please refrain from posting anything that would be censored on broadcast tv. As a rule of thumb, if it could make it on a telenovela, it's cool.

Someday, China may look back at the Edison Chen scandal and thank the man for its privacy laws (http://shanghaiist.com/2008/02/26/someday_china_m.php)

China currently has no privacy laws, but that may change, if lawyer Yu Guofu from the Beijing-based Internet Society of China has his way. In an interview with the China Youth Daily 《中国青年报》, Yu made the following comments:

There is no privacy protection law in China so far, nor is there a single item in any laws and regulations that covers privacy protection... The only mention of privacy is in a judicial explanation by the Supreme Court of China that focused on the protection of the right of reputation... Moreover, there had been scarcely any research on the right of privacy for a long time in China...

He also goes into the "Oh, let's protect all the little children" argument:

"And let's not forget the bad influence those pictures have exerted on Chinese Internet users which include not only adults but children too," he said, saying that the picture would do "unredeemable damage" to children...

"Anyone could be the victim in the next photo scandal without a privacy protection law," he said.

Yu advocates drafting China's first law on privacy protection "as soon as possible" because a strong privacy law could have "prevented the circulation of pornographic photos of leading Hong Kong celebrities having sex with each other". Look, we are all for the enactment of a privacy law but to say that such a law would have prevented the circulation of those pics is to stretch the truth a bit. Clearly, this guy knows nothing about the nature of the Internet, or the nature of porn, or both. Besides, Bill Gates said so.

As you can see, the incident has opened a legal can of worms both in Hong Kong and China, and while the Special Administrative Region has its own privacy law, it has been powerless to protect Edison Chen and his bed buddies. Meanwhile, the man at the centre of it all is now invoking another law with an even bigger stick in the territory: the copyright law. Edison is now demanding that the authorities carry out a criminal probe to see who infringed on his copyrights. We hope he strikes a windfall with his copyright claims!

Now let's take a look at what the Hong Kong copyright law says:

Hong Kong law prescribes that people can get up to four years in prison along with a fine of HK$50,000 (US$7,611.74) if they are found to have copied art work for sales or renting without the producer's consent, the report said.

That means, ladies and gentlemen, if you've been sending the said pictures to your friends in a zip file via MSN (without having your friends pay you for it of course), by all means continue to do so because you haven't run afoul of any law! The police coming after you for what you do on MSN would be an invasion of your privacy of course, but then again, the privacy law hasn't been enacted in China yet.

And by the way, after Edison turned over his pink laptop to the Commercial Crime Bureau, the bureau has made the shocking revelation that there is yet another set of obscene pictures (possibly including intercourse) that hasn't yet made its rounds on the internet. The pictures feature other female celebrities not currently named in the scandal. We hope the detectives will send us those pictures soon respect the privacy and copyrights of all involved and not circulate the pics. The mystery man, "Kira", it is rumoured, has either been silenced with a big fat bribe of HKD5 million or brutally exterminated by some triad.

Chen proposed marriage to girlfriend to avoid triad wrath (http://showbizandstyle.inquirer.net/breakingnews/breakingnews/view/20080227-121526/Chen-proposed-marriage-to-girlfriend-to-avoid-triad-wrath)

SINGAPORE -- Hong Kong singer-actor Edison Chen, who quit showbiz last week in the wake of the sex photo scandal fallout, had proposed to his girlfriend Vincy Yeung four times to try to dodge triad revenge, a Hollywood gossip website has reported.

Yeung, 19, is a university student in Boston in the US. Her uncle is chairman of the Emperor Group of companies.

She and Chen have been dating since 2004 and came out as a couple in 2006. He once said that he would marry her when he had earned US$20 million.

Some members of Yeung's triad family allegedly want Chen dead after explicit photographs of Edison with actresses and pop stars were plastered across the Internet over the past few weeks. But other members are trying to protect the Canadian-born actor, who went into hiding in Boston following the scandal.

A report in hollywoodgrind.com on Saturday said Chen had hoped that marrying Yeung would show that he has changed into a family man, and is no longer a sex maniac and womanizer.

But Yeung apparently turned down his marriage proposal after discussing the issue with her family.

Some earlier reports said Chen threatened to slit his wrists if Yeung did not marry him, but these have been denied by the actor.

The Hollywoodgrind report also said that Yeung's family had suggested to Chen that he seek treatment for his addiction to sex, which he did so.

He is said to have checked into a rehabilitation center in Utah, but left after a few days when he was attacked by several of the other male residents in the place in a parking lot during a break. The group of men threatened, kicked, and punched him. Edison left immediately and travelled to Vancouver, British Columbia to stay with his mother.

Chen then flew to California to meet movie executives in Hollywood to try and get work in upcoming movies. During this time, he started negotiating with police in Hong Kong to avoid prosecution, and for protection, before returning to former Crown colony.

He returned to Boston to see Yeung one last time before returning to Hong Kong last Thursday to face the media.

Speaking publicly for the first time since the scandal broke, Chen admitted taking the photos but said they had been stolen from him. Canadian-born Chen, 27, said he had returned to Hong Kong to account for himself.

“I would like now to apologize to all the people for all the suffering that has been caused and the problems that have arisen from this,” he said, reading a statement in English to a packed press conference.

“I would like to apologize to all the ladies and to all their families for any harm or hurt that they have been feeling. I am sorry,” he said.

The racy photos which purportedly show him in compromising positions with various celebrities, including Canto-pop star Gillian Chung, actress Cecilia Cheung and former actress Bobo Chan, were copied from Chen's computer when he sent it in for repairs. The Straits Times-ANN

it really would. not just an HK movie but a U.S. movie too. but in the US it would probably become some stupid ass romantic comedy.

Two Men Detained over Graphic Photos of HK Celebrities (http://english.cri.cn/3086/2008/03/01/176@328630.htm)
2008-03-01 01:03:34 Xinhua
Police have arrested two men in the central China province of Hunan for posting explicit nude photographs of Hong Kong celebrities on the Internet.

The men, surnamed Xiao and Wang, were sentenced to five days detention for circulating the photos of entertainer Edison Chen and female celebrities.

On Tuesday, police at Changshan Public Security Bureau found more than 10 graphic images in an on-line post. The writer of the post, which drew more than 100,000 clicks, proclaimed he had many more such photos.

Police said Xiao copied more than 400 photos from Wang on Feb. 10, and more than 300 were confirmed to be pornographic. Around 2:00 a.m. the next morning, Xiao allegedly posted some of the photos on the Internet.

Xiao invited friends to his home to view the photos on his computer on Feb. 20 and 25, police said.

According to China's regulations on administrative penalties for public security, those found producing, duplicating, selling or circulating pornographic products even without the purpose of making profit can face detention of up to 15 days.

Previously, 11 people had been under police detention either for producing and selling the photos or for posting copies on the Internet.

Ten people who allegedly produced, sold or bought computer discs of the photos were arrested in the southern city of Shenzhen last week, when police confiscated about 250 discs and six computers used to produce the discs.

An 11th suspect, surnamed Yu, was detained for 10 days in Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, on Feb. 22. He was found to have downloaded 260 photos on his computer and uploaded the photos to the album of his QQ space to attract the attention of other Internet users.

Last month, photos of the Canadian-born Chen caught in sexual acts with Hong Kong starlets surfaced on the Internet.

Chinese Internet search engine Baidu.com had been asked by a Beijing Internet self-discipline organization to make a public apology for allowing the spreading of the photos last week.

Edison Chen Back to Spotlight with New Film (http://english.cri.cn/3086/2008/04/02/176@341130.htm)
2008-04-02 20:49:35 CRIENGLISH.com

Hong Kong singer-actor Edison Chen, the focus of the celebrity nude photo controversy, will come back to the spotlight to cooperate with Hong Kong actress Hsu Chi in shooting a romance movie invested by an American independent film studio.

The agent companies of the two stars have confirmed the news, and said the investor doesn't care about Edison's photo incident, and thought his privacy has little connection with his acting career. So they contacted Edison in the first place, for they thought he is the most suitable actor to visualize the character described in the script.

The agent company also disclosed that Chen is going to start shooting this summer. Meanwhile, there are also some other western film producers who have expressed their wishes to cooperate with Edison.

The film, which will be shot in both Singapore and Chicago, tells the story of a Chinese student (to be played by Edison) who studied in the States. He has been appointed to work in Singapore, where he starts a romantic story with a girl played by Hsu Chi.

After publicly resigning from the Hong Kong showbiz circle, the scandal-plagued pop star Edison Chen went to the United States for performing and business opportunities.

The twenty-seven-year-old Chen shot to fame in late 1990s, and has released a dozen albums and has appeared in popular films such as "Infernal Affairs" and "Initial D."

Edison Chen, Josie Ho In New Video (http://batgwa.com/story.php?id=787)
14 April 2008
Alex Au

Less than two months after he quit Hong Kong showbiz, Edison Chen (陳冠希) is back in a music video.

Edison quit after being publicly shamed when sex photos belonging to him leaked onto the internet in January, sparking the entertainment industry’s biggest scandal in recent memory.

Edison has not, however, made a comeback – the music video for Josie Ho (何超儀)'s "Repay" <償還> that he features in was filmed last December.

The song is part of Josie's latest album, Elastic Rock, which was released today.

The song, a Teresa Tang (鄧麗君) cover, is one of three on the album with videos directed by in-demand director Vernie Yeung, who has worked with Kylie Minogue.

In the video, Edison features as a puppet that Josie manipulates in love scenes.

Her company considered pulling the video because of the scandal, but Josie was adamant that it was released. She said that Edison had done her a favour by working on her video despite being very busy and that she could not ditch him simply because of recent events.

Josie joked: "I've created these intimate photos, so I don't need Kira to put me on the web."
