Please Help this woman

Hello,

Believe it or not when there are plenty of serious criminals to prosecute, the State of Georgia is trying to prosecute a Women worker at McDonalds for accidently putting too much salt on a Police Officers Hamburger. A petition has been placed on the internet for people to sign asking the judge to dismiss the charges. Thus far the judge has refused.

If you feel that there are far more worthy people to prosecute for real crimes then please feel free to sign this petition. I know I would rather see Drug Dealers, Theives and Murderers get the use of our Criminal Justice System rather than something like this.

The charge was "Reckless Conduct".

I admit to thinking this was some sort of joke when I first heard this, but it was not. The other thing which makes this so unjust, IMHO, is that in GA there are only Misdemeanors and Felonies. So if she were to be convicted it would be at least a Misdemeanor and become part of her perm record.

I am from Philly where they have summary offenses where you can pay a fine and that is it. To me for something like this to even get to court is mindboggling. But for this woman to have a criminal record for over salting a hamburger :eek:

I don't know her but I feel there are far better uses of the resources for our criminal justice system.

I now live in GA, FWIW, and now maybe I need to worry about putting too much condiments on something myself ;)
