I have recently come across a term called "running the mark." The context in which the term was used was very vague and I have not been able to find much information on it. All I know is that it is commonly used in reference to Western Martial Arts especially wrestling. I was wondering if anyone here is familiar with the term and could explain to me its significance as well as how it is used. Thank you in advance for all of your help.

I've heard "running the pipe" in a wrestling context. Dunno about "running the mark."

It's term used by con artists to refer to the action of implementing thier con on thier victem. The victem is called a "Mark".

You also hear the term "Working the Mark" and several other minor variations of the two.
