I found it interesting that I saw De Cheng on Fight Quest a few weeks before I attended a seminar he hosted.

At the seminar he spoke no English and translated solely through Shifu.

But I hear while he was hanging around the school he would speak English with a few people when no one else was around.

It was pretty hilarious because someone asked him a question and he just looked at him and was like "I speaka no English - sorry."

We were all onto him.

Regardless - he was one of the coolest people I had ever met.

master de cheng speaks very good english. i also think he speaks a little french aswell. he's one of the nicest person iv ever met.

one day i was at fa wan temple high up in the song mountains and it was getting dark. i met master de cheng and he offered to give me a lift in his car. on the way down we started chatting. i ended up going to his school on beihuan road and having dinner with him and his foreign students.

i have to say i respect him so much. there are a lot of so called "masters" in shaolin that will take advantage of the tourists that come here. master de cheng isnt in it for the money. he still keeps the shaolin spirit alive. :)
