To celebrate the expansion of our school and classes, we are pleased to offer an open workshop on the form and application of the first two animal forms from Xing Yi; the Dragon and Tiger! The classics state that the Dragon represents vertical energy, while the Tiger represents horizontal energy, thus these two animals are considered the root of Xing Yi practice outside of the Five Elements.
Xing Yi is renowned for its aggressiveness, and no nonsense approach to combat. Battle tested, Xing Yi is one of the only martial systems that is documented to have been used on the battlefield, and is just as useful in the modern age!

• Learn the complete forms, which are quite simple to practice, yet are excellent tools for any stylist to enhance their own art!
• All applications will be shared along with variations!
• Open to any and all style, levels, ages, and groups!

Instructor:
Jake Burroughs brings over 17 years of martial arts experience to this workshop, training in Mantis under Hu Xi Lin, Sun Bagua & Taiji as well as Xing Yi under Tim Cartmell, as well as training with Martin LaPlatney in Li Gui Chang’s Xing Yi. He is the head instructor and operator of Three Harmonies Chinese Martial Arts Center in Seattle, WA.
