Thanks for posting the vids. Cute little boy, pretty lady, too. Can't say too much about the guy. Thanks again. Would like to build a smaller version like this on my lot, maybe someday. Too bad about sound, but doesn't distract too much from visual. Thanks again. Peace.

There is one of these gardens on East Pender in Vancouver. pretty nice park. Also another much smaller version in my old home town. Surprisingly, my current hometown doesn't have a large one like this although there are a few buddhist temples that are quite large and include these kinds of gardens in their grounds.

It's a very nice addition to any city though I would have to say. Quite a pleasant retreat from the day to day of urban living.

we may enter the main entrance or the gate.

or enter from the east side with qi ling guarding the trail.

there is a bridge that divided the lake/pond into a small one and a major one.

there is a tea house with chairs and tables.

there is a tea house that you may buy tea and other drinks.

--

I particularly like the house with wood carving that I forgot to film.

--

if you are in the area, visit it.

--

it is mostly ming dynasty style of architecture.

--

everytime, it rains, this area would be flooded.

so they came up with the idea of building a chinese garden without destroying the plants already there.

--

I also like the rest of the botanical garden.

Su Zhou was the capital for the kindgom of Wu.

Sun Zi (Tzu) fought on the behalf of Wu.

so there is also a temple of Sun Zi in Su Zhou.

it is right next Tai Hu; the grand lake.

there are many waterways and many gardens.

Su Zhou is the city of gardens.

Chinese gardens;

there are 4 features or elements

1. scenes or landscape of mountain (rocks, stones)

2. scenes or landscape of water (lake, pond)

3. human architecture usually bridges, and pavillions,

4. greenery, plants, trees, flowers and grass etc.

finally, there is also the idea of borrowed view.

for example, we may see the northern tower temple from zuo zhen yuan.

we may see the san gabriel mountain from Chinese Garden at The Huntington.
