i met a guy who is legally blind but has had surgery since then. he was a all state wrestler. something about him wrestling his dad while he was blind and being able to feel movements and such really easily and allowed him to react. idk

it pays to do some grappling/chin na practice with your eyes closed or blindfolded.

not talking crazy here. the chances of beating someone at striking range if you can't see is near 0.

but in this guys instance, he bumped into the dude, grabbed and held on for his life. that in an intimate knowledge of his house layout paid off. in a sense, his blindness was the perfect training for that scenario.

I wrestled a blind kid in highschool. He was a former county champ. He looked like a miniature demonic Mike Tyson. To my dismay I was not allowed to break contact with him and clap in one location, while quickly moving to another for the old okey doke. He pinned me in the first period. I asked the ref to check his head cuz it was crazy greasy, but no dice. I was never even able to get the toothpick out of my knee pad.

Pretty cool story. Talk about a case of the blind leading the sighted. Good for him on defending his castle and rising above his handicaps to defeat some animal.

Dollars to donuts says the perp was an illegal as well. Be carefull who works on your yard crews;)

Kudos to him. Kind of reminds me of some of the Zatoichi movies where he does not have his sword. He just wrestles his opponent to the ground and snaps their arms and legs.

That guy looks pretty big too. I image it would have been harder if he was a small guy.
